FHL Player Vote: Two Line Transition by FHL

Hey to all, as noted in discussions early in the season, and as we close on the final week of the regular season, it is time for the vote on whether or not to transition from three even strength lines to next season, and if so how to go about it.

As noted earlier this season, the transition to two lines has to do with a couple areas:

Less need of double shifting with current population numbers.
With that, more influence by players due to a large reduction in 2 lining.
Removal of the need by many teams to double shift defence due to defensive numbers.
Less need of focus on 1 species due to less chem bonus spread.

However, there are some risks to it, among them a greater hit to teams from injuries, but we the commissioners believe that is a worthy risk to take.

In the transition to two lines, 2 options have been set before us:

  1. Expansion
The league expands to 20 teams, giving those on the GM’s Wishlist first priority to pick a team. Divisions would expand to having 5 teams a piece tho at the current time there is no plan to expand the playoffs for this. Teams would also be limited to 10 skaters and 2 goalies, with the acquiring of a primary allowed if the limit is hit by the release of a secondary player. More goalie spots would be opened as well.

  2. Secondary Reduction
In an adjustment to the grandfathered rule, the league would reduce the allowed secondaries of agents to 3 skaters. This would reduce the skater allotment such that 2 lining works without benched players, while giving more primaries playing time. Team player limits would still be in effect as with 1.

So that is the options before us outside of keeping three lines are before, and thus what will be voted on. To vote, enter a comment below with a vote of:

A1: Expansion
A2: Secondary Reduction
or
B: Stay Three Lines

Votes will be taken until the end of the first day of the Playoffs on Monday, April 13th at 11:59 EDT(GMT -5). Please note that a vote for either A1 or A2 is a vote for 2 lines, and the path we take in that will be determined by which option has the majority of votes. We hope everyone comes out, and wishes all good luck in the playoffs and hope you are enjoying your time here.
