Those who have known me a while probably know there's a non-furry novel I wrote a couple of years ago called "One Could Do Better" but never could get published. The only publication offer I got on it dried up as soon as I mentioned money.
After a couple of years of waiting out this stinging failure, I've tried a couple of times to rework it into something but I've had a number of false starts.
I'm hoping my latest iteration, called "Wild Fox Koan," will build to something. What I've done is encapsulated the original story in a canonical mythos that serves in part to try and explain/contextualize the older text, but from the point of view of a fictional narrator recounting a rather fantastic story that relates directly to the events in the older text. Since the original story was a seamless blend of fact and fiction to begin with, it doesn't need many changes to make this story work, though I will be re-working the text in a few places to make it more like what actually happened while I was in London.
I'm going to try some different markets for this book once it's done. In the mean time, just a heads up that I'll need proofreaders who can give solid critique on manuscripts.
