Remember! Unlike FA there is no easy way for people to find your artwork outside of the tags YOU create. So while it might be fun to put the tags "This image is so fuggin hot" that means that users will ONLY find your image, after a few days, by either searching those terms or painstakingly going through ever image posted until yours. Be informative with your tags! Make your art as easy for us to find and comment on as you can if you want us to!

And for other users who search for art, remember the power of these tags! The tag system the search engine uses is similar to google in some regards where you can put something such as "|elephant |pachyderm |anthro" will search for any entry with tags containing any or all of those! And you can do things such as "+hyper +dong" to ensure that BOTH keywords are there!

Remember, this isn't FA. Don't treat it as such! Make your art as easy for us to find as you want comments!

Also do spread this on! I see too many people tagging like on FA where tags barely meant a thing. I'm NOT going to find your awesome shark image if your tags are "LOL I drew an awesome thing".

FOLLOWING UP:
Remember users, you can also help! You can add your own tags to an image to make it easier for others to find! If you find a really good image, and it has tagging that makes it very difficult to find (again such as "LOL AWESOME"), add some criteria that's appropriate for others to find it!

That being said, don't be a jerk. Don't put "Fox" on a shark image so it gets more views. That just leads to confusion and stupidity. Be responsible.

Thank you!

anyone can add tags; submitters can only block the ability for people to remove tags the submitter themself added.

Thanks for the correction! I'll edit my journal to reflect this.

Wish more people used tags appropriately. Too many are attached to FA's old system. Makes finding art very difficult.

It's an interesting concept, I kind of like it better. It acknowledges that we may not always get the tags correctly or even forget some good tags, if they're used constructively of course.

Sadly I still see too many "I want to bang this so hard" tagsets. FA's system only worked because I'm fairly sure their search engine searched titles, and they had "enforced" tags such as species. Kinda taking it upon myself to add relevant tags when I see something I like >w<

Also I can't deny it feels good to add "orca" and "dolphin" to orca pieces. It drives me nuts when someone only puts "whale".
