I confess... by artimator

Sometimes I wish it wasn't always me alone drawing others' characters for group prompts. Hardly anyone I draw for has the courtesy to draw back and it just makes me feel so...Used.
I mean, sure it isn't obligatory to draw back to someone who uses your character for a group prompt but...

I confess...

you are probably being used, its best in those situations to jsut draw for yourself.

Your art is too good and your time too precious to give it away without a fair return. Anyone who blames you for desiring courtesy is probably just there for the freebies. But if you show that your art is not worth nothing, then others will see the value in it. Because so much stuff can be had for free on the internet, I think many people undervalue the actual effort that goes into it.

To date, I have never gotten my half of an trade where I wasn't going through some kind of exchange group. And said exchange group was sort of a 'secret santa' type thing, so were were paired up. But otherwise, never got my half to anything lol

Draw for yourself and do what makes you the most comfortable and happy :D
If you want to continue doing tradey type stuff maybe just stick to a smaller circle of friends and acquaintances who you know are good for their participation. :)

Hope it goes better for you next time <3

Thing is, in these groups you need to draw for different people at a time to gain certain points. I'm aiming to gain as much points as I can, but the main point of such a system is so that everyone gets art of their characters.
Mine are hardly ever drawn by anyone else, even those I've drawn for, and although that puts me to a certain advantage with the point gaining thing, it beats the main purpose of the system and it kinda makes me sad that almost nobody I've ever drawn for bothered to even try to draw me back.

        Well that's just sad :C
I wish I had better advice for you. I think you're perfectly in the right to feel bad in that situation though. Personally I probably would either stop altogether and find a different group, or maybe be really selective in the group your in.
Like I said, I don't have anything too great to say.

But regardless, keep your chin up <3
Really hope the participation improves for you.

on the bright side, the more you draw, the more practice for you ;u;?

Ahahaha! Yeah, I guess so. ;D

it occurs way too often to people in exchange groups ): It's honestly what made so many of them die back in the day.

Sometimes I wonder what could be done to help encourage more people to get their halves done, like maybe listing things they can't draw and like drawing most to match up things that make them more eager to complete. IDK. It's always the most disheartening thing ):

Ah yeah. I've heard of those. This group's more of a....'Closed species' thing.

I'm pretty sure there was enough stuff in the group to encourage people to draw.
The points gained could be accumulated and used for raffles and other cool stuff.
Hrm. Oh well. I'm definitely taking a break from all that crap.

geeze the fact it's part of a closed group, which I would think more people would be able to keep up their half, is really frustrating :(
