Anxiety, posting things, and where to find me. by Felthry

You may have noticed I've not posted anything recently, and a lot of what I have over on FA has still yet to be posted here.
I apologize for that.

I've got quite a lot of stuff that I need to do, that I need to write descriptions for, that I need to get things sounding just perfect before posting.
I have an anxiety disorder that leads to problems trying to get things actually done as things pile up. I'm unable to easily break down a big problem into several small ones, which leads to problems with various things, including posting a backlog.
I've not been posting journals as much as I used to, either; I've been primarily active on IRC (check in #weird or #modular on Furnet or #afterdark on WZLnet; I use several different names for different shapes, but they always start with 'xol'), XMPP (xolroc@prettyshiny.org), and skype (xolroc) lately.

If there is something you know of that I have yet to post anywhere, please do send me a message and let me knwo what it is! I'd like to get this backlog cleared out.

    I noticed a lot of your tumblr posts seemed to be about anxiety not chatting with people recently.

    I haven't been posting journals recently as well. That's because I post them to 8 different websites, and I'm working on an extension to automate the process. X3

    I've never heard of furnet or WZLnet. I wish I could chat with you on XMPP. But it hasn't been working with trillian lately. =/

      Quick question: What XMPP server are you using for your account?

      Furnet and WZLnet are IRC networks. Furnet is a network for fur stuff in general, and WZLnet is weasyl's official network.
      What's wrong with XMPP? As Fira said below, what server do you use?

        I've been meaning to try out IRC. It would have to work with whatever chat aggregator I happen to be using.

        uh... I was using jabber.org I think. Then I switched to is-a-furry.org after that stopped working with trillian. is-a-furry.org worked for a little bit, then ran into the same problem I had with jabber.org. So now I'm back at square one.

          What problem was that?

          I don't recommend using IRC with something like trillian or pidgin. It's significantly different from other protocols and really requires its own client. I use Hexchat, myself.

            I don't know. It just wouldn't stay connected. It would disconnect in trillian. I would try to sign into again. But at best it would just connect, disconnect, and flicker between the two trying to stay connected. When I say connected, I mean in terms of trillians's account statuses in the drop down box that shows you all your accounts. The XMPP account would flicker on and off.

            Crap... I really like having everything in one window. It's just a pain switching back and forth between two programs. That's why I haven't used F-list recently.
            Does Hexchat keep a chat log recorded?

              It can be configured to do that, yeah. I think you'll find it's not much of a problem!
              I dunno about how you can fix that problem with XMPP. I've never had that problem.

                I just checked, and it seems to be working again. Although all my contacts seem to be offline. I think it's because they might be contacts only through the other xmpp account.
