i wish weasyl would crack down on users putting explicit content in thumbnails, and mis-rating mature content.... im in a place rn where online porn culture is starting to make me really mad and I wish being in an art community didn't mean having to see people's explicit fetish shit all the damn time.
Like post what you want but I got the idea that cropped thumbnails was partially for the purpose of cutting out sensitive material, and using the rating system to warn people of the nature of the content. But now people are using it to specifically focus on the most explicit part of any given piece and that's just super fuckin rude to me.
haha sorry to whine like this, but this is just a thing that's really been grinding my gears lately.

I've seen the thumbnail being used that way and it grates on my nerves a lot too. And I kind of wish so as well because it gets rather tiring having to come to the front page and cringing every time I see the color of that rating and the first thought being "Who misrated something this time" but then again I do wonder what more can really be done? Perhaps some sort of popup box when picking ratings with darn summarized descriptions when submitting or perhaps just with the highest two because those are more of the problem. I wish I knew what more there was to do but for now guess the main thing is to report the bad ones that you see and maybe they'll figure out some way to try and make sure people see the ratings info. Sucks though that there may be only so many things they can do on their side though :I
Though yeah. Genital shots and explicit taking up entire thumbnail. Not pleasant. Also it would be nice if reporting didn't make the page refresh so you have to look at the stuff again, but also some way to know it went through.
(Also sorry may have rambled about the wrong thing;; But do pretty much agree I wish this didn't happen so much)
