Ever since xmas I've been dealing with shoulder pain. I was forced during xmas to try skeet shooting with a 22 guage shot gun. I could barely hold it, it was to heavy and big and thus the butt ended up half way from elbow to shoulder. I was covered in huge bruises for at least three weeks.
Now the pain is a radiating tightness in the shoulder/joint that increasingly gets worse with the arm being worked. Cold and heat packs do nothing, neither does muscle cream. Putting weight on the elbow(guess what thats how I draw) causes pain. It radiates down to my fore arm, and in turn creates increasing problems with my carpal tunnel.
To see a chiropractor isnt covered. Its 150$ the first meeting, and that does NOT include xrays.
I dont know what to do. I need to draw to make money but I cant draw because it causes pain. The shitty tablet my sister got me for xmas requires a lot more pressure and in turn cramps my hand.
I cant deal with this .-.
N..no. I mean I -think- my uncle has had actual professional training(as hes mentioned being at the range with someone and got really mad when I didnt turn off the guns ability to shoot thinggummy that I wanna call the power button but ISNT an off/on switch) but im like 5'4 at best and this thing was longer then my arm and heavy as shit. It scared me and I was shaking so badly lul >.<
It sounds like they didn't bother teaching that you needed to have the butt of the shotgun tight against your shoulders to prevent damage. Ugh, bloody twits. hugs and offers heat compresses Take your time with drawing, hon, until you can afford to get your shoulder looked at. I'll be able to send some money your way in about five days. <3
I would suggest therapeutic massage and specific stretching for your shoulder. Radiating pain like that can be caused by nerve compression which can occur at various different spots in the upper limb and or neck area. You could also have active trigger points in muscles you are using while drawing. Trigger points are hyperirritable spots in muscles that can cause radiating pain upon contraction of said muscle.
Massage therapy still costs $ though :S

Ugh that sounds terrible ;w;
Did they not teach you how to hold it or anything, just "here, shoot these clay things plz"? D: Sounds like the opposite of fun.
