My rent went from 60€ to 150€. It was so low because the owner is friends with my granny, but they do want to sell this place, and that's not yet gonna happen. They also want money, as retirement money is not that good, and thus the rent number increases. It is certainly better than having to move out elsewhere where I pay as much if not more, and for likely lesser space also. I have also nicely settled in here and get along with the neighbors I know.
But it means I will not be ablo to do any kind of non-living related expenses, so nothing but bills and food, I just cannot afford to, I have been on ascetic mode for a while now and now I'll be moreso.
I also have to bury my idea of taking timeout from work, at least in the form I planned it to. My funds will last 3 months at most rather than half a year and that will hit me most hardest... I really need a break for current work and do my own things for a while that I haven't been able to due to conflict of interest.

I do have couple backup plans as far as taking the break goes regardless of financial situation, and some that can allow me to drop current work entirely (lets just say I'm not particularly fond of programming anymore) :
*Doing repairs, much more than I currently do. There have been some talks with an old couple who runs a computer reparis + internet access point + shop + development place. The lady mostly handles shop side, while the man handles repairs and dev side. He would much rather focus on dev side, and that I could help out with the repairs side. They are pretty close to where I live too.
*A while ago I repaired one industrial controller and saved ton of cash for place my brother works at. The company expressed wish to work with me but hasn't called back. I could poke them sometime about it. One or two repairs of such magnitude are enough to cover my expenses for a month which is very lovely.
*Work for an "IT bus" company, doing repairs there. A while ago someone wanted me to work for them, they told me how I could easily make 800€ by doing some work couple days a week there. I actually would think it is a good idea, but it is at the capital (2 hours a day wasted to travel plus related costs) and there's plenty of Russian speaking people, and my Russian is not at communication level even. But if I am with someone who can do the talking it would work out.
*A friend in Germany wants to hire me to repair and modify game consoles, the pay would be enough to cover my living costs and the work itself is very very lovely. I have been helping him out for years now. He would only be able to do that by summer however.
*Finish off my SG-1000 / SC-3000 game, do an MSX port, and get it sold. My German friend is eager to help with the latter part. The game concept is all worked out, I have basic dev hardware also worked out, as far as programming goes I am ready to handle it. Art will not be a headache and I think music will not be a headache either. As far as production goes, plastic will be the hardest thing about it, PCB and rest is easy. Market is small however, and I don't think it will make too much money, but if I make say 1K off it I'm safe for a while.

Of course there's never enough money, and one thought that has gone through my mind is exchanging currency for creative output to get some more dosh to spend on the luxury items. I know there's one person who has already expressed interest in that. Maybe there's others. Coloring and shading would be my strong points, rest not that much but nothing I cannot overcome. I have no solid numbers, I would take offers, I also don't really value my time. All my successful artistic ventures are done in one single sitting, and can take from couple hours to 10+.

I had something else on my mind but I forgot about it... anyway enough thoughts for now lol.
