Indeed. In a way it parallels the original cast except in that case one cast member (Nimoy) wanted to direct instead of write.

As long as Pine doesn't pull a 'Shatner' and direct Star Trek 5 (15) and it turns out the same.... heh heh heh heh heh

With the Horrible Special Effects. Iv'e wished for years that they'd come out with Star trek Five with Improved Effects shots.

Keep wishing that Trek 5 gets an FX makeover like TMP did, but know that'll never happen as long as Shatner is alive =P
I think Paramount wanted him to fail so he wouldn't get another directing gig & they couldn't make more Star Trek films....
As then he'd be BUSY with other projects to play Kirk, granted that was before TNG came along & changed things....
