January Sucks

Am I right or am I right? January is the toughest month to get through. Everyone's grumpy, bad news on the TV & people won't clam it regarding those two subjects. We're lucky as sentient beings to be able to put up with it; To have stamina enough to get through it. January tests me... In every way possible. At work, in hobbies, with relatives; It can get real tough. I'm just glad the days are getting longer & this crud show of a month is over... THAT & the great fuzzies, featheries & scaleys in my network give me support just by being there. Two weeks & this crazy month is over :-) .

Power Supply Mayhem

I have been in the process of upgrading my computer for the last little while. I managed to get my hands on an 8GB Radeon 295x2 Graphics Card on a clearance sale with a savings of 51%! I scored big time there. I then checked with an anonymous source for what kind of power supply unit I would need to mammoth beast. I bought said powers supply & lo & behold... It was not good enough. As soon as I played any game, I began getting hardware crashes. Needless to say, I was livid that a web source I have trusted would put out false or mis-researched info. I immediately emailed them. Half a day later, they updated the PSU requirements... A full 250 watts then they said was the maximum requirements. They didn't even give me a courtesy apology.

And it gets crazier from there... I purchased a 1,000 watts power supply from the same supplier as the graphics card. They put my order on hold until I could prove I was me. By the time I had that particular fiasco sorted out, the product ran out of stock. So then, I had to wait a week & a half until they got it in stock & ready to ship. So early next week, I hope to have my power supply unit... And this time, it had better be enough to power my system.

Art in Progress

On to some lighter news :-) ! I have been working on some art & doing the odd sketch. There is one in particular that involves a modified version of Galaranth. I can't give much more detail than this in a G rated journal, so expect more details in a more appropriately rated journal after this. Any-who, I've been sketching a bit & hopefully, I'll be turning some of them into digital works. Hopefully I'll be back on line playing Star Trek Online, too.
