2015 Get-To-Know-Me by sinereous

I prefer you call me Jay over a username but Gris is also fine.
By the way, it's pronounced more like "Gree" Not Grease or Griss.
I prefer male pronouns.
I don't have an actual "fursona" anymore sorry. I have tons of characters though.
I am not very social but that does not mean I don't like you.
I am also not much into anthro art anymore but it might happen once in a while.
I apparently come off like a gruff asshole a lot of the time but I blame this on past events and also being too old to use the proper netspeak. I am really a big friendly doof I promise. Don't be afraid to ask me questions!
I am happily married and not looking for anything else.
I am childfree, but I have a handful of cats, two buns, four birds and a smattering of reptiles. Most are rescues and/or special needs. This is where most of my money/time goes and I do not regret that for a second.

ART
Do you do requests? Not usually, unless you're a very close friend of mine. I will sometimes volunteer for fandom-related free art.
Do you do trades? Sometimes. But I am the slowest artist alive so be prepared to wait months.
Commissions? Not right now. Not for a while.
Go to Cons? I am tempted at times, but the thought of them just freaks me out. So not at the moment.

I have an art question. are you a wizard

  • Link

You should talk about your reptiles! Not enough scaly babies out there. :3 I'm in a married, childfree, zoo-having household as well.

    • Link

Yaaay, don't tempt me! I am always up for talking about pets, mine or yours or anyone else's haha :) What sort of critters do you have?

      • Link

I've got 3 cats, 1 smooth collie, three ball pythons, three leopard geckos, three crested geckos, one 75 gallon fishtank, and I'm adopting a one-eyed boa this month. :3 I always tell people that all my reptiles put together MIGHT equal the work of one of the cats.

        • Link

Oh that sounds awesome, and yay for one -eyed snakes ( I have a one-eyed hognose and she's a darling). And I LOVE smooth collies, wow. I am babysitting my in-laws collie this week and they're great dogs. I can't have one regularly though, allergic :/

As for reptiles (and arachnids) we have three cresties, two ball pythons, aforementioned hoggie, a rosy boa, 3 T's & a scorpion, two giant day geckos, a panther gecko, a halmahera gecko, a marbled salamander, and a uromastyx. Definitely a Full House. And still, all of that together takes Myca and I about 15 minutes twice a day to clean, feed, and check everyone's temperatures. Mostly they just take up space XD

          • Link

Exactly! And space is the only reason I don't have more at this point. XD We're moving in the summer and when we get settled for longer than a year somewhere I hope to get more intensely in the hobby, definitely with crested and I'm undecided on what snake species to work with. It's taken a few years but I've finally brought my husband around to how wonderful reptiles really are. He even has one of the rescue leos in his office now. <3

This is good to know - I like friendly doofs :)

Thanks for sharing! I too lack a real fursona character these days (I had one, but it doesnt really fit me post-transition?), but feel pretty satisfied with just my other characters.

And ohh, what sort of birds do you have?

    • Link

I think that's my problem too. I am so different now that my old 'sonas feel like they belonged to someone else almost. As for birrrrds... we have 2 bonded budgies , a fischer's lovebird with a taste for blood (but we love her!), and an old special-needs Senegal named Jazz.

      • Link

Yeah, exactly. It is weird to look back on those parts of my life like they exist in some time capsule of memory.

        Ahh nice! I've got a somewhat-skittish tiel and a black-headed caique C:

        • Link

I bet they're both absolutely amazing ;_; . and that's a great way of putting it, yes.
