Why I don't post here by DarkriderZX

Well, it's been some time since I've posted something here. The problem is, I don't really think I can post anything here. Let alone visit this site a whole lot.

From my understanding, I cannot post art that I have paid for from artists. The artists have to send them to you as a collection. I can understand the system, and the reasons for it. And I'm no artist.

However, no artists have bothered to offer me a collection. Do I have to ask them to offer it as a collection? It seems rude to do that, if you ask me....

Truth be told, if nothing can really done, I might shut down my account here.

You actually don't HAVE to only collect art through collections. You're more than allowed to post work that's been done for you! Collections are just an alternate way for people to keep tabs on artwork they've had done by other people, and direct pageviews to the original art over a duplicate, and they're not going to shut you down if you decide to post up work that's been done for you. The system is imperfect, and they know it, so it's completely optional.

And if you're concerned about asking artists for collection requests, doing it via private note may be ideal, if you're not comfortable requesting it via comment on the submission. If they forget to send you a collection request, it never hurts to ask, and I've had quite a few of my own customers ask me both through note and comment to send them a collection request for their commissions when it slipped my mind. Collections can only help to add to an artist's exposure, after all!
