NYPD Officer Shoots And Kills Unarmed Man In Brooklyn

An NYPD officer shot and killed Akai Gurley while doing a "vertical sweep" of a stairwell. They were on the eighth floor, and he stepped out of his door onto the seventh floor landing. He was nowhere near the cops, and the only thing he did was literally appear within their line of sight... while being black.
And they shot him.

NYPD has the worst trigger-discipline of any gun-toting entity I've ever seen. The rate at which they harass, assault, and murder black people is disgusting... and they're not the exception to the rule, they are the rule... and they have always been.
This isn't new, but the internet's ability to share such information with millions of people in seconds is. Now it's time everyone started paying attention.
