so this game is amazing. it's pretty much what i always imagined an adventure to be. no elaborate story driving everything, no fancy character designs, just you, a goal, and something to overcome. also the monsters are everything a kid is afraid of: they're not weird looking animals, they're not frowning, yelling or obnoxious, they're spectral black smoke in the forms of creepy, intimidating and terrifying creatures with glowing eyes. they're nightmares. and they're trying to steal my companion. yeah there are things to complain about (camera control, game mechanics, graphics etc) but those are just the time when the game was made. for its release, it's pretty dang awesome. plus what flaws the game has, it adds to the experience and the environment. the feel of the game is rare in the games you find these days. it is the little brother to Shadow of the Colossus. so far, it's inspiring. <3
later tonight around 10 or so, i'm gonna fire up the livestream and work more on MixnMatch's commission, and open for others too. gonna switch between sprites, inking practice, commissions and the like. make sure to say hi!
i've played around 70% of SotC... b-but there's a hi-def version??? i have it for ps2 but if there's a hi-def version how do i get that? :OOO
It's in the Playstation3 'Classics HD' range. They package multiple older gen games onto one disc, remastered for 720p HD. There's Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Silent Hill, etc. You get both Ico and Shadow of the Colossus together. I think you can download them separately from the PS3 store if you prefer.
Fingers crossed they don't delay The Last Guardian much longer.

If you haven't already, be sure to play Shadow of the Colossus next. The new hi-def version if possible.
It's a prequel to Ico and one of the most artistic and awe inspiring things to ever be called a game.
