The call out policy doesn't protect us by carpDiem

Call out policies that don't allow calling out rapists and alleged rapists aren't here to protect us. They're here to protect rapists.

A community that doesn't call out rapists is not a safe community.

I'm fucking sick of this shit from furry communities. If the call out policy isn't updated, then I'm done. There's plenty of decent furries out there, but furry communities aren't here to protect us.

Hmm.. I can understand where you're coming from. But I like to think that weasyl is protecting everyone. It's kind of like.. Look at it this way. If there was someone who did something in the past that they weren't too find of and people hated them for it forever. For example. "Oh Jane doe picked her nose on the bus lets make fun of Jane doe forever and never talk to Jane doe and make everyone hate Jane doe because she picked her nose that one time". To me, weasyl is protecting all individuals, regardless of their pasts. Plus rumors of so and so raping so and so go around so often and seem to be false in the end so I pay no attention to the she's or he's who cry rape unless there is some type of justified truth instead of just general filthy talk and hate for a person.

No. You cannot compare rape to picking a nose. And people who "cry rape" are more likely to be telling the truth than not. False of accusations of rape are incredibly rare.

Stay away from me with that rape apology bullshit.

//sigh//.. Rape is a very bad thing. I know. It happened to me for YEARS. False accusations may be rare but I have experienced many. Many. Just because someone didnt like someone. I am not being rape apologetic. Things are often compared to other things and I was merely using it as an example. Theres no reason to swear at me, I used manners with you. Are you capable of manners? Thought not.

Anywho. The policy is to PREVENT DRAMA so please stop stirring it up. Weasyl wants true equality. For everyone. Its the way things should be. Equal. So please. Respect weasyl. the admins here are MUCH better than other art sites. And just because you strongly believe in shaming people and their beliefs go against yours, youre being just like everyone else. I dont approve of rape. But I think this is a good policy and that it should be respected. Nowhere allows callouts except drama-ridden hellhouses.

The policy against call-out journals is (I'm assuming) to protect the site from things like libel and slander lawsuits...and to stop the site from becoming just a drama filled rumor mill. While this also unfortunately means that real warnings are also affected, it would be more than full time jobs for the Weasyl staff to try and police true from false in such a scenario. And in a lot of cases, even the true cases may not have any proof the Weasyl staff would be able to see.

While I can also completely understand that having warnings is completely a good thing (like sex offender registries, for example), there's really no way to tell true from false. I wish there were. So do the Weasyl staff, I'm sure, as it'd be yet another way to contribute to the community.

Re the libel thing: read the post that the staff put out recently.

False rape accusations are incredibly rare. Real rapists should not be protected in favor of the unlikely even of a false rape accusation.

Not speaking up about rape protects rapists. No one else.

Stay away from me with rape apologist bullshit.

Insult me all you like. I have never and will never be a rape apologist. Incredibly rare, yes. Never happen, no.

I actually know someone that did time due to bad structuring of laws and someone who decided they REALLY wanted to destroy them. They later even admitted such to the police and judge. And believe you, I was VERY pissed at said person for having committed said act until it came out it wasn't real. Did said person deserve the total devastation that they suffered for that time frame? Oh hell no. They're a decent person who just happened to get involved with someone that 'was' crazy enough to try to use a 'cry rape' as a tool to try to destroy someone for breaking up with them. Please note I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED IN THIS CASE IN ANY WAY! Merely pointing out I have direct experience with ONE instance of such.

I am 100% anti-rape. You can choose not to believe me if you wish and call me a 'rape apologist'. You will be wrong.

Re: libel thing - well, as I said, I was assuming. The post had not been made when I made the post. I am not a mind reader.

As for the telling true from the false comments I was making, that was in reference to ANY call-out journal, period, not rape ones in specific. I apologize for the confusion.
