In light of the situation plaguing FA, hello folks. I'll be more active here from now on. I've even started only posting previews that link here on FA. This if course means, this will be where you snag yourself some commissions. For the sake of organization, I'm migrating my price journal from FA here. So excuse the incoming journal or two with the information.
The pricing information on my profile has been updated and it is correct, for future reference.
So glad to see people migrating and getting away from that. Hopefully if enough artists jump the line, all the others will come too. I've seen some complaints from writers about the writing sections here, but perhaps that can be handled and fixed if requested enough, so Weasyl can be more writer friendly.
I'm kind of hoping it's not going to take FA actually crashing and burning to do it, haha, but at this point, who even knows? e_e
Well if that would be the case, maybe Dragoneer would learn a lesson? Who knows. I just wish he wasn't running it into the ground. I have good memories on FA, I first joined the fandom after finding it.
I have good memories with it too. It wasn't my first furry site (that was Yerf) but I certainly made a lot of friends there. Unfortunately Yerf died for much the same reason as FA is slowly but surely dying; it's being run into the ground by an owner who wants to use the site as his personal clique more than providing a good place for the community to gather. It really is a shame.
I have a lot of nostalgia for it. Le sigh! The good old days, as they say. Honestly Weasyl is the most professionally maintained of any of the furry sites I've seen to date. Which is why it drives me crazy that more people aren't using it!
Indeed! I know some writers are kinda deterred by how focused it is on artists, but if a collective of writers shoot some suggestions on how to make it writer friendly to the admins, I'm sure they'd work something out.
There are also a lot of art collectors/commissioners who feel like the site is a bit overly geared towards artists as well. There seems to be quite a bit of confusion over how the Collections system works. Even I wasn't completely clear on a few things about it until I asked Fiz for some clarification recently.

Good to see more people making the move over from the cesspool that is FA.
