Fuckin' A! by MicahWeil

All right, now that I have some time to upload works for all to read and mock openly, I'm sitting down and getting to it! I'm downloading a number of recent submissions from other sources and trying to submit them as Literary submissions.

I'm going to weigh emphasis on "trying".

It's a .doc format. Word 95 version. No special characters. MAYBE some bold and underlining for title and what not. Upload it, right? I get an error...something about UTF-8 format. Look it up, examine everything, do research on the google...decide that it's better to set it as a .txt file.

Because, you know, artists are FAR more important to the furry fandom than authors, so we don't get to have fancy formatting. (no offense to artists, mind you. I'm just highly bitter that a really rough sketch you guys do garners 900-1000 views in the first day while a story I pour my heart and soul into only garners 15 views over the course of THREE GODDAMN YEARS).

So, I put it into a text file and upload it.

...the formatting gets chewed to all hell. Everything is blocky, no definition of the paragraphs, and it looks amateurish.

All right. It's not recognizing indenting (tab key). Fine. I'll hardwire it; it's recognizing spaces. Slap a number of spaces onto the beginning of every paragraph and I'll be fine, right?

Same problem.

It kinda ends up looking like this paragraph here.

Herein is my issue, though. I like my work to look at least SEMI-professional. If I don't have my indents, it looks sloppy. If I have to space out each and every paragraph, to define "this is where one section ends, this is where the other begins", then blocks of conversation will end up looking just as nasty. I don't want to do that.

Anyone have any suggestions?
