Excited! No, thrilled ! :> by Widdershins

Bioware made not long ago a contest for their upcoming game; Dragon Age: Inquisition i
I decided to enter it with 100% hand painted work not using their provided material for it and today the finalist were announced finally and guess what, my work made it in! ;D

I dont have any hope in the public voting on their facebook page but the fact that my entry got selected into the finalist makes me very very happy and excited!
When contest will be officially over I will upload my entry work, for now you can check it here;

Well, wish me luck!
But even if I wont win (I surely wont), getting into the finalist makes me very-very happy! :>

Excited! No, thrilled ! :>

    I really wish they wouldn't use FB as a host for these things, I can't even view let alone vote, but good luck ;w; I bet it's incredible.

      I personally really dislike FB myself and I find it awful they make the decision based on likes. The only reason I have FB is my school I really hate that thing myself and by my knowledge all depends on how many friends you have there to win yourself more support. I have below 200 friends there and most of them are fellow fox owners I always can ask help if something comes up with my girl and I feel clueless.
      Second half are zoo workers I worked with when made my essay for my finals and an animal shelter I am volunteer at.

      But regardless that, I am very happy to be among the finalists and recently "by public likes" I think I am on 7th place from 34 works which is not bad at all! I still say I feel very happy and proud - even if Bioware multiply times proved they cant host properly their contest.

      The email you had to send your entry was wrong, the same day it had deadline ONLY on their twitter (I dont have twitter but I am a fan of the game serie so just to see when finalists are up kept visiting their twtter page as guest) so people not on twitter and not followed it up until last minute actually lost their entries?
      They tho delayed the finalists with 2 days because of this (I want to beleive it was that and not because they were slow judging) and the finalists I not fully agree with all of them regarding they claimed they will select them based on 50% creativity and many actually very simple and general ones where I really miss the so called creativity.

      Many I like a LOT myself as well, many great entries but put it on FB popular-like-race not something I think is proper way to handle a contest. I could imagine a lot different ways to select the first 5 really - but oh well ;D
      Not complaining, I am only pissed at the email thing which was very unprofessional of them. Up until yesterday I did not even knew my resend even arrived and if it did I was in time or due of my timezone I was out of it already. No email notification was sent "yes, we got your entry, thank you".

        Same, I had FB for a while for College updates, but I dropped it as soon as I could -- never got the updates anyway because I never remembered to check the damn site. For something like this there are plenty of other sites they could use that people don't have to log in to vote on, it'd get them more exposure in the long run, since they could always link it on FB if they had to. I can imagine it's fairly useful for someone with an animal like that though (how lovely by the way).

        Yes, regardless of FB, it's great you made it into the finals, and 7th place (so far ;) ) is definitely something to be proud of. You'd think a big company like that could figure out a decent platform to host on though, that's terrible. It's difficult to judge if they've been fair or not, they've probably aimed to give a range of styles. I hope. With likes and the number of friends you have playing such a role... who knows, could easily just be a popularity contest.

        Well unprofessionalism on their part aside, I think you've done really well and I wish you the best of luck with the finals =D

          Overall the whole was very poorly handled, and they themselves broke their own rules so many-many ways. I got 6th place (just out of the prized winners) but for someone not having millions of FB buddies I think it was still a nice result out of 34 finalists!
          But got no recognition for that, only winners were featured which made my idea of it proven; they just wanted more advertisment by fandom for their game without even want to get involved so just dumbed up all they could and let people race it with like button rape.

          I am still pretty happy, and the feed back I got from totally random people was very heart warming and supportive. I still loved working with the piece and I think it was not that bad so I book it as a success :>

          And thank you once again! Also sorry for my slow response suffering with bad computers atm, just took back my laptop to service again, and this guest computer is terrible. Glad I can use it for drawing still but with good ol system making double saves file1 and file2 since it can just die on me xD;
