Rainfurrest 2015, and a Kickstarter to check out... by Poetigress

First, for those who haven't already heard the news in other places, I'll be attending Rainfurrest next year as the writer Guest of Honor. I'm both incredibly surprised and incredibly honored by the invitation, and while I'm still sort of dazed by the whole thing and feeling like I don't deserve it*, I'm determined to make the most of the opportunity, for my benefit, for the guild's, and for the con's. For those of you still planning cons for next year, I hope you'll keep RF in mind. >^_^<

My other news at the moment is about a Kickstarter for a new literary journal (stories and poetry) that's aimed at all ages but particularly older children and teens (about ages 10-18). It's called Ember, and in addition to looking like a gorgeous publication, they're also planning to reprint "The Frog Who Swallowed the Moon" in their spring 2015 issue (after it appears first in their sister publication Spark sometime in the next couple months, I believe).

They've commissioned beautiful cover art for the spring issue inspired by my story -- I've already pledged to get a print of it. :) Please take a look and contribute if you can:

They've got a somewhat ambitious goal, but if enough people can contribute and help spread the world, I think it's attainable.

*(Really, I kept expecting to get an email later that day saying "Oh, sorry, we got the wrong email. We thought we were inviting this other person, who is way more qualified than you. Sorry about that.")
