Rp Rules and Guidelines by Jaxedge

This is long overdue but better late than never. In case you haven't noticed in my profile, yes I do rp. it's fun for me and helps keep my writing skills finetuned when I lack the time or inspiration to pick up on a story. However, in my experience with rping here on Weasyl, I've found that it is probably a good idea to have same basic rules and guidelines to work with. So here we go:

1.I primarily RP through notes. I know the note system is clunky but there is a reason for my preference. Because of my work hours it is difficult for me to meet up with people over Skype. Also, given that most of my RPs last a fairly long time, it is easier for me to keep continuity this way. I can RP over Skype but my time on Skype is very limited so keep that in mind.

2.I prefer story based RPs. Now that’s not to say I’m not open to just a straight up yiff RP but I do prefer something with a storyline. Yiff RPs can get boring for me fairly quickly while story based tends to keep me engaged.

3.All format details need to be discussed before we start I am familiar with full sentence format as well as script format ie Name: Talk (Action) ((OOC)). Anything outside of that we will need to iron out.

4.No single word replies This one drives me bonkers and will usually switch me off the RP all together. I can’t work with a one word response. I can if it’s in context such as answering a question or something but if you’re consistently giving me short little responses, you don’t leave me much to work with. I’m not asking for a book, just enough for me to expand on.

5.Please do not pester me for same day replies . I know the FA system shows when someone reads your sent message so if you can see I’ve read your message but haven’t replied, don’t bug me about it right away. A lot of times I will read it in passing or will read it and need time to think of a response. So don’t jump me if I don’t reply right away. However, if I did read it and you’ve gone a few days without a response, I’m fine with you checking in on me. I have forgotten to respond to a post before so a friendly reminder is welcome if it’s been a while.

6.I am open to discussing any genre/theme/kink. If there is something in particular you have in mind for an RP but it is not listed in my Dos/Don’ts below, ask me about it. It’s likely I am either okay with the concept or haven’t hear of it. I’ let you know if I’m comfortable with it or not with no judgments.

7.RP events will not become canon for my characters. Thankfully I haven’t had someone ask this one of me yet. RP events will not directly affect my characters canon unless I choose to. For example, if one of my girls becomes pregnant in an adult themed RP, that will not carry over into any art or other storyline/bio for the character. If I do decide to take a part of the RP and apply it to my character going forward, I will discuss that with you directly. Otherwise, what happens in the RP, stays in the RP.

8.Respect my boundaries Things listed in my does/don’ts are there for a reason. If I say I will not RP a certain theme/act, do not push me. There’s a very good reason I will not RP that particular theme and pressing me to do otherwise will just irritate me and will likely end in me not wanting to continue. Respect my boundaries and I will return the favor.

That’s the basics so far. I may expand on this later if needed.
