A significant reason to be annoyed with FA being down by Kompy
I can neither resume doing Palette Challenge pics or get new ones done until FA is back up, because guess who's a genius and didn't have that list backed up on her HD or something?
YUP.
Lovely.
I have other work I can do in the meantime, sure, but that's annoying still :/

Yep. It's easy to be angry at FA, but let's remember that any website would falter under a concentrated DDoS attack. Trolls do this to furries because we're easy to pick on. :I

Well don't get me wrong, I understand why it's down and it DOES suck for anyone to get attacked liked this for whatever reason.
I'm more annoyed at myself for not having a contingency plan set for situations like this, is all.

Yeah, but try not to beat yourself up too much about it. Keep doing what you love, and focus on the positives. Maybe you'll be able to work on a fancy new picture you've been meaning to do for a while ahead of schedule, hm? :)

Actually an ISP of a good chunk of New Zealand got DDoS'd a little while back, goes to show how effective it is as an attack. It's a pain, but yeah, I'm pretty sure there's little anyone can do.

Yep, until someone comes up with a system that can block that sort of thing and prevent it from overloading a server, but then the trolls will just find some other way of taking down a website.

In this case it was a signifigant part of an entire country. But indeed, people will ALWAYS find ways to be jerks.

They're under a DDOS attack. Or, at least they were. The server is completely offline now. I think they're upping their switch board security.

Let's hope so, not so much for me and my minor setback but because hey, no one should have to sit through a DDoS attack, those things suck.

Yeah, it seemed to be the 3 biggest sites under attack. FA, SF, and IB. DA is still up, cause they know how to handle their security. There is a way to handle security. In fact, there's a type of switching board that just feeds an attack back at it's attacker. Unfortunately, those things cost an arm and a leg.

Yeah I was reading that on another journal someone made about the site being down or at least it was a few days ago :/ annoying stuff! I wish people would use their skill more usefully instead of attacking random furry art related sites.
