Aaand suddenly, I'm on Weasyl! by Hanmonster

Greetings and salutations there, Weasyl! To any readers of this journal, you may or may not know me; I'm currently hoping it's the former if you've frequented FA in the past. I've finally committed to making an account here to start maintaining, and I just hope it's not a 'too little, too late' situation in so far as finding my wonderful watchers and friends again. My FurAffinity account was my more or less singular venue of commissions, social interaction, and making a viable career for myself, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little lost and scared that it may not come back.

Trying to keep my chin up, though! I'll start posting work again here once I figure out this site's UI. If any of you out there knew or know me on FA, feel free to comment, too. I can only thank my lucky stars that I have ways to contact the two people I still have longterm commission work going for, but beyond that... well. Barring Patreon I'm kind of dead in the water right now.

I hope you're all well out there, and I'll keep crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. I hear the community is nice in this site, too! And apparently those I've talked to enjoy the way everything's set up and streamlined?

Haannn! I'm glad I found you here! ;w; Welcome to Weasyl! Been watching you on FA as well, and I can't even start to think about how horrible it must be for artists like yourself who got your customers there.. Everything seems to go upside-down after FA got attacked.. yikes. One can only hope for the best!

Either way, I'm happy to see you here!

I'm definitely happy to be here! Even without the fairly distressing circumstances of FA crashing out, I have been meaning to make a presence here for a while! Everyone says the UI on Weasyl is really nice once you get used to it-- and I'm happy to see you, too!

I would like to pimp your Weasyl page on my own page, we have many mutual followers! Do you think you'll post some art soon? I wish to fav bomb your Weasyl gallery. >=)

Aw gosh, Eski, that's super kind of you-- and I'm so glad you're here, too! One of my biggest fears about the thought of FA doing its crash and burn was losing my really direct contact with amazingly wonderful people like yourself (even though, in your case, I at least have an email and a dA name, so it's a bit irrational).

I do plan on posting some art soon! I've been off and on from the computer all day to try and cope with the anxiety bit of all this happening, but I'm going to make myself figure out how posting works here and at least start chucking up a few things from the last several months before I sleep. I'm sure it's got to be less complicated than it feels right now, since it's a whole new experience. For what little I grasp already, it seems like the setup is pretty intelligent as far as comments and gallery management.

That's understandable, take it at your own pace. Having your entire connection to the art world, your customers, and fellow artists being suddenly cut off and shifted is definitely anxiety inducing! If you have any questions about Weasyl basic stuff I might be able to help. <3

I agree, it's a little crazy with this whole, 'furpocalypse' going on. It seems they are sorting it out though. We will all prevail and we will have grand stories to tell future generations! :D

Oh man, I do hope it sorts out! My heart goes out to all the other artists in the same boat as me. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed, because even though I know we can pick the pieces up and start putting down roots (and getting clients) in other places, it'd still be kind of a hammer blow, and hard to make up for without some business losses and difficulty.

Also, I'm so glad to see you here!

I totally understand the worry. I definitely do not have the following here that I do on FA and I've been on DA for years but the thought of anything being done there is laughable at this point. lol FA updated on twitter that they are waiting on an IP release which they said is good news. Perhaps the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. For all of the fellow artists that over work themselves, maybe this is a small well needed breath of fresh air, regardless of the accompanying anxiety. Good to see you here as well! It really is a wonderful community. It's still small but sometimes that is a good thing.

I'm so sorry for all of the displacement happening from FA being down :c Hopefully with this account and other places people can get back in touch and all and you can keep doing everything okay again. If you need any help with UI and such I'd be welcome to helping at all! Love your art and happy to see you here :D Though...yeah would've been nicer under better circumstances.
