So they somehow put my laptop on the list of drop offs for today and not yesterday, so it hasn't really been looked at yet. :| It's an honest mistake, so even though it's frustrating it happens. Despite me dropping it off pretty early yesterday (around noon).

The guy did apologize and then tried to at least give me a price range for the cable replacement and stuff, and of course my laptop is special enough that they have to call in for a quote for that. It's a LVDS cable. It shouldn't be horribly expensive, just the installation / labor fees in addition will round it out to about 100 or a bit over. I expected that though. I won't be given an official price until Monday or Tuesday because the quote place or whatever isn't open on the weekends (also not unusual, I get the same responses for quotes at work - weekends are never a go).

Long story short, NO IDEA when my laptop is going to be given back to me or when it'll all be done. Kinda irked mostly because I JUST signed up for a 2 week compositing course, and my laptop decides now is the time to have a fit. Love my laptop, tech guys were like 'this is a good machine', it's built great aside from the monitor cable issue. Just. Bad timing all around. UUgghhhhh.
