EF Recap by Zura

Well, now that we’re back home and mostly unpacked, I’ve got a little time to post a little recap.

Had a lovely time at EF and really enjoyed the new venue. Shared a room with karmakat and jake_lioner83. I think my only complaint about the room was the bed. It felt like sleeping on a plank. Other folks we talked to had soft and comfy beds – I guess we just didn’t get lucky on ours. It was nice having a couple restaurants, and ice cream/pastry shop and a gift shop IN the hotel. We didn’t explore outside much, but from what Jake found, there were a couple small markets and a McDonalds within walking distance.

The staff of the Estrel was amazing. They worked super hard to meet our needs (even swapping rooms for us on check-in because of an issue with the shower). Any time we had a question or needed something, they took care of it quickly. The registration staff even wore ears during check-out days of Sunday and Monday, and (we think) a wait staff member was running around in a partial suit! I think all the constant business at the bar did drive them a bit crazy, though. From what I heard, they had to do an emergency bar restock Wednesday AND Friday.
There were some teething troubles as expected with a new venue, but overall it was good. There was so much more room in the Dealer’s Den, and from what I heard tons of space for the Art show.

**** Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Dealer’s table to pick up goodies, check out our wares, or even just have a chat! Karma had lots of folks pick up his comic, Omega Alliance. I had several on-site Paracord commissions and had singed fingers by the end of the Den ^.^

For our commissioners: We have a few life-type things to deal with and also have to get our workstations back in order, then we’ll be organizing info and contacting everyone to set up the work queues. Keep an eye on your inboxes!

Oh, and in better news - I have my PC back! ~happy dance~ Now to migrate all my files...
