Art rules for myself by Silenceartwork

-Continue anatomy studies(50 per body part) Do gesture drawings more often.
-Get out of ruts, try different styles.
-stop comparing my artwork to other artists, its not fair to me or to them.
-I am good in my own way
-Set time aside for more personal art. My concept art is lacking
-Don't force anything, it turns out bad
-Chocolate
-Variations
-Study more color theory, though I think I know how it works
-Nobody owns me. I can draw what I want. Stop trying to draw for others.
-chocolate
-Stop hiding things. If I suck at them, the more practice the better ill get
-Work on city scapes and mechas more. Im not good at them, there for I need to do them more
-My progress will not be like a movie, showing things gradually going up or down. My progress will be made in leaps, and sometimes will not make sense. This is alright. Stop getting upset about it.
-Work on backgrounds more.
-Chocolate
-backgrounds
Challange myself. If I dont think I can draw five headed alien with mecha bits-then draw it
-Stop bringing myself down. It looks bad and I wont get better from it.
-Murder my darlings. Stephen king was right. I can make new ones and my art will be better for it.

        It's definitely very good advice.

I started a character a day drawing challenge for myself(having 50+ characters sometimes some don't get drawn a lot xD) so that I could work on anatomy as well as have a current drawing of all my characters at least somewhere. I'm hoping to keep up with it for the next 50-something days lol

Ooooh, 50? Wow. Im doing 50 pictures of each body part myself c: The trick is just dont force it! Good luck on your chars!

I just draw the character I have listed for the day(picked via random number generator) and if I decide to do colors or shading then I do it, if not they stay a sketch haha.I've been trying to incorporate backgrounds as well, even if they're simple. So far I've made it through the first 2 days and I have the characters for the first month already lined up. If I complete the first month then I'll compile the second month's list. I do find that it helps to try to draw at least something everyday. Keeps my art block down..for the most part. If I tend to switch between humans and monsters/animals/anthros just to keep myself constantly drawing so that I don;t have to try to force something if I get tired of it.
