Why do you follow me? by BeakyBeast

I'm genuinely curious.

Do you follow me because you like my art or because you like the style but you're waiting for me to draw something you like?

Or is it more that you followed me because I drew something you liked once and now you're waiting for me to draw it again?

Perhaps it is more that you followed me just because I followed you and therein it is more of a polite gesture than any true interest, and likely have blocked off everything uploaded while still saying that you follow me. I don't know anymore.

I wonder because there are many in my follower-base, not in the ways of being popular by any means, but its always the same small five or six that show activity or interest. After a while it gets puzzling and I get the feeling that people are waiting for something. Either that or they're trying to say through silence that I'm not drawing what they like but still sitting on the follow list for some odd reason instead of merely unfollowing and finding another artist like a sensible person.

Why do you follow me?

I like your art! Though I haven't left any comments because I just don't have anything to say.

      I'm glad you do.
If you have nothing to say that is fine then, although artists do tend to work better when given feedback, favorites do tend to speak on their own too I have noticed.

I genuinely like your art, so I followed. Apologies if I'm unable to comment, but I do pay attention when I get the chance.

That's fine, we all get distracted from things one way or another when going about life. I'm glad you enjoy my art though.

I follow you because I did so on FA.
Being a lurker, I almost never comment or favorite, only watch.
Always on lookout for dragons and other interesting creatures.

Yay! A follower from FA. Always nice to see your kind around.
I see, so while you enjoy content you are not the kind to really comment on it or favorite unless it is warranted then. Or at least that's what I'm reading.

I adore you're style and dragons. Mostly dragons. Im a dragon whore. But you have some hella cool creatures too <3

Dragons are pretty popular in their own right, so that's likely unsurprising. I'm glad you stayed for the creatures and the enjoyment of my style though despite the fact I do not tend to draw them very much.

I followed you from FA over to here (Tumblr too). I like your style, I like your character designs and monsters. The car-critters are really neat. They're not something I'm usually interested in but you have a really cool way of blending the mechanical and organic parts that I haven't seen anyone else do. I don't tend to comment much anywhere, I don't really know what to say beyond 'Neat' or 'I like those toes'. Don't know how much other artists really appreciate the generic 'wow cool' comments. I should maybe try more but I'm just not that social online. I'm happy just lurking and getting to see neat art.

Plus I want to get some more commissioned work from you one day~ Money has been a little tight since we bought a house last year so my personal art budget has been nearly zero for some time. Houses are expensive; who knew. Some day I will have money to buy art again and I'll be back for more!

      Yay, another FA follower!

I'm glad you're enjoying my work so far, especially the carmorphs and beasties. If you like machine and organic blends though, you should also check out Surzsha's car creatures on tumblr. They're more fluffy than mine and a bit more cat-like. I can see where you are coming from with comments, after a while the simple ones can probably get tiresome and probably say as much as a favorite. Which is "I like this art, it is good art."

Maybe I'm used to FA where just about anything posted had some sort of fan or interest associated with it. I don't know, or maybe Weasyl is going through a slower period after the whole exodus drama died down. Either way, it is good to hear you still are enjoying what I am producing! Good luck on your finances, houses do tend to draw out a lot of funds.
