And now, the news! by Lurigo

I've been putting this off for way too long now. Been wanting to write a journal for the last week now. So, here it is.

In my previous journal on dA and FA, I mentioned that I may be getting a new laptop and a Wacom tablet. Well, I got them both now! On the same day too!

First off, the Wacom. It's friggin' amazing! They weren't kidding when they said that it has a "pen-on-paper" feel. My old tablet worked more like a slip and slide. The Wacom has much better pen control! Though, I've noticed the nib wears at an alarming rate. My old tablet still has its original nib, after about 3 years of use. (Actually, only 1 year of actual use, since I didn't use it too much) But that's okay, it's what spare nibs are there for, after all!

Then there's my new laptop. I got the exact Acer Aspire I mentioned, the V3-551G. It is brilliant! It's very fast, has enough RAM for all my digital art needs and a stunning graphics system for my games. (I say system and not card, since this thing has 2 cards, running in asymmetrical CrossFire, unlike any other laptop I've seen. :P) I'm really happy with my new Acer! Though, the thing I'll miss most about my old Dell, is its insane screen. That laptop, from 2001, has a screen resolution higher than even my PC's LCD. Most laptops have nowhere near that kind of amount of pixels. But that's why I'm still keeping it too, ain't nobody getting my old Dell!

Anyways, this new lappy of mine sure packs a punch. It even plays games like Far Cry 3! And it's got a numpad, unlike my old laptop! And it's black and silver!

Now, you all aren't watching me to listen to me talk about computers and stuff, so on to the topic of art. I've been working on a couple of things as of late. Now, nothing is done quite yet, but a couple of them will be before the 25th. Here's a partial list of what I'm working on:

* Contest entry for Gamermac's contest on dA

* Request for Awash2002 on dA

* Ref sheet for my fursona, Lurigo (Almost done)

* Drawing of a Ford Escort Mk-I for my dad

* First complete drawing with my new Wacom

* A few surprise gifts for a couple of my friends

And now, the news!
