I've heard this term crop up a few times over the last year and it really has my curiosity piqued.
What do you consider to be an art hero in the artists you watch? Is it their style? The stories behind the image? Technique? Boldness to try new things and push the envelope every time?
If you have an art hero what do you do to try to learn from them if at all possible? Would you try to even approach them to start a rapport that could possibly turn into an association and later a friendship or more? Or do you lurk from afar while many others clamor for the spotlight of attention from this person?
Does said artist keep in touch with their watchers and fellow artisans? Take the time to respond even to the briefest of remarks and flesh out novellas for the more challenging of queries? Do they respond to the community and bounce ideas off of them to further improve their abilities?
Or are they the kind of people that don't go out of their way to make a huge splash in the community, content with their artistic pursuits while the social perks come in their own time?
I'm honestly very curious in what draws a person to view an artist as a kind of hero!
I will also be setting up for another stream tonight, but the following two nights call for an early bedtime due to those days being morning/afternoon shifts - ICK!
Hm.. I wouldn't say I have an art hero per say, bit there are plenty of artist that I appreciate for various reasons though most of them revolve around moral integrity and ah style
Moral integrity can be a very important factor in choosing who to consider an idol/appreciative artist.
Along with a few other things, like use of marijuana and bongs and just. There are a few artists whom I have stopped watching because they had a journal about how they were high all the time, especially while doing art, and how they couldn't find their bong and wished they had it to be high, and I was just, nope nope nope, I am done, not watching you any more
Yeah, that in a private conversation is awkward enough, but to openly advertise on a site with minors that are incredibly impressionable.. that can be dangerous in encouraging said rising artists 'Hey, if I need to be good as an artist I need to be drugging it up!"
Yeah exactly, and FA does have a 13 age minimum, so hopefully they know better, at least they should. But another side of it is, that her art frequently displays the use of weed, and bongs, and etc. granted most of it is in mature or explicit thanks to the AUP.

I have never heard this term
I am assuming it is like a regular typical "hero"
