I’m so stupid hahahaa…. by Swanda

So I’m feeling kinda low and my brain have gone from slow potato to hyperactive fucking nightmare fuel.
Of cause the most logical step from here is to.. well watch a horror movie, one of those that are actually kinda scary!
Not that I can’t watch them without getting shit scared… It’s more like my brains hyper active mode will make it all real once the movie is over… And most likely for days to come.
I do this every goddamn time, without fail. Worst thing is I usually only catch myself doing it midway in the movie. Here is some advice that I had to learn the hard way.. It is usually much worse to stop watching a horror movie mindway. Watch it to the end, the endings tend to be shit and kinda kills the whole thing. Which gives your brain less to obsess over.

Oh well… Better finish this one.. Here’s to stupid.

Yes... Yes, nothing is more effective at deteriorating all scary factors in a horror movie than its ending.
Haha, what did you watch anyway?

Well you and Edith were talking about The Conjuring, so of course I had to watch it X)
It kinda dropped to the floor like a sack of potatoes when I continued watching after writing this journal.
For whatever reason I find witches super unscary, especially the "I love Satan" kind they love to show in murican fiction.
I guess you can't reeally dislike your fans? : P
Also, the "now I know what it is" factor always drops the excitement to a super low, so they have to turn up the jump scares just to make up for it.
Hnnngh, all the knocking on walls or doors, the clapping and shadows at the corner of your eye that disappear when you look at them, that sort of shit though..
That's the kind of shit that gets my brain all jumpy. Because that shit it can replicate no problem. Lets scare Maia to shit. Haha..

Ohh, that one. Well, a lot of people think it's scary. I don't get it either shrug. It's very in your face as far as scares go, and the witch of course. I don't mind horror movies being visual and direct, but it needs to be some trippy weird shit for that to work, not just... old ladies flying around.

Nearly every horror movie ever made falls into the trap where it feels like it needs to up the ante by revealing (and usually fighting, which is even worse) the teeerifying monster or explaining every little thing about whatever creepy concept the story's build on. But as soon as you understand something, it tends to stop being scary.
And that is why the only movies I have ever watched that were actually frightening, were ones that revolved around something other than being a horror movie - Because it allows for a plot without necessarily having to explain all the creepy weird things going on.

It was The Conjuring, and the scarey part just went all downhill from here on.
Actually I made it through the night just fine and am A-okay today.
Sooo, I guess I got all worked up for nothing XD

For what it is worth, it was a a sack of gold until the god damn "And she was a WIIITCH"
The clap clap game was marvelous and as a horror aspect worked like a dream. Nothing ever since had worked so well for me. But the movie goes down hill from there.:/

I have no idea if you find it boring, but if you ever enjoyed (even ever so slightly) teh "are you afraid of the dark" series, try Insidious 1 and 2. I found them pretty nice with few ideas that were scary enough.

Dude, I love Insidious! Haven't watched the second one, but the first was great. Well, mostly great - kind of went off into silly land in the last half instead of keeping the silly/genuinely creepy balance. But it did some things I've always been yelling about why no other horror movies do, and I'll always apreciate it for that. Plus, we need more movies that don't take themselves too seriously :>

I love the silly aspect of the movie. And it goes even better in the second film. Watch it. Seriously.
