I feel so, so stupid... by Swanda

So, yesterday as I was cleaning up, I was drying off the holder for my tablet pen and it broke apart. First I was like OMG, I CAN BREAK ANYTHING, CAN’T I? But then I noticed that there were tips for the pen inside of the holder... It is meant to me opened. Now I'm feeling even more stupid. Like.. I've had that holder for years and years, and never knew. My next action was to find the pen holder of my old tablet.. and sure enough, there was a hidden treasure of tips inside that one as well. Hnnnnnnnnnngggh.
I guess I should just stop feeling embarrassed about not knowing, and just be happy for free tips!
Wooh.

I feel so, so stupid...

    This is apparently common

It's frighteningly common to not know apparently c_c

    Hahaha, naiss !
Some pens have replaceable tips. Mine doesn't have that option....

Ah yeah, I've always been using large intuos. It's like, back when I got my first one I didn't want to cut back on anything, I wanted the best there was.
Hehe... Thats 9 years ago in 5 days XD Geeh as time flies. Can't say I regret it either, I really freaking love the Intuos line. But that also means I've been oblivious about those nips for well.. 9 years.

I'm using a Toshiba Tecra M4 laptop+tablet combo. I could use an intuos pen with it (Wacom based setup in the machine) but for now the existing pen does its magic well enough. It'll take me a while since I can destroy its tip haha, I imagine the screen surface of the machine is busted first.

Neat! do you have any issues around the edges with this setup? Like, loss of pressure or just the pen going all wonky?
I like that I don't have to draw on a screen, since the biggest issue I have with making traditional art, is that I can't what I'm doing for my own hand.
So, that problem would be back with a screen tablet D: That and I would probably break it. My tablet needs a new surface plate thing... The one on it now is filled with holes ;A; I press soooo hard when I draw.

At the very edge it loses accuracy indeed, like within 3mm of the edge. Then the movement is no longer smooth (it gets kinda steppy). Presure still seems to work though. Only time I get that close to the edge is when I scroll or press the X but those operations work good. I wish scrollbars can be on left... since I'm a lefty haha.
To me it is complete opposite, that I can draw on the screen makes it all work out for me. I cannot work with a normal tablet, I even prefer mouse over that... but I am weird lol.
As far as pressing too hard goes you "lose" pressure like that on this device, it is too sensitive for heavy hands. I normally press really hard too but I can adapt and really have. I would say I have got my dream drawing device haha, it bridged the gap between digital and traditional domains for me https://www.weasyl.com/submission/628288/genet .

The surface plate can be lifted up and removed. It should have only one edge attached. You can use any sheet of plastic or even paper or such instead. Just don't draw on the surface under it, as any damage on that will be feelable on top layers.

              Narh, you're not weird : )
The people who take to a normal tablet instantly are rare and few.
When I got my first tablet it really didn't work for me either. I even left it in a corner to rot for a few months. Then stubbornness took me over and I forced myself to learn how to use it, and now I wouldn't ever have it any other way. I am however only able to use larger tablets. If I try my fiancés tiny ass tablet, I'm back to not being able to use it.

I actually just checked yesterday, and no I sadly cannot change the sheet myself :C
The tablet I've got have a touch function; meaning you can use your fingers instead of the pen, kinda.
So they clearly state that you have to send this model in and they'll change it for a fee. While the non touch versions appear to even come with extra sheets. Haha...

Aww, that's too about the surface :(

I was surprised they put it there also. When I couldn't find the extra pen nibs, I was pissed and thought it was forgotten in the box. Lo and behold, I accidentally twist the pen holder and out they came.

It's just so super illogical, especially because it's so heavy it feels solid. They should totally put a small sticker on them saying "nibs inside, twist and behold" :P

    That's... hilarious. Oh man XD

I believe I am lucky in the way that I tend to read instructions. But I have seen this to be extremely common. So don't feel stupid at all. More like be amazed that you learnt something new and that you didn't throw away your previos penholder. 8D

Something that took me nine years to learn XD Oh geeh.
And yeah I'm bad in that way.. Kinda have a hoarder gene I think. Throwing stuff away is hard for me.
Luckily at the same time, too much stuff annoys the hell outta me, so It's never really gone too far out of hand.
