This morning I went for a walk and found a bat.

She was laying on the sidewalk, on her back (which is not something bats do). This is an area where people ride their bikes and skateboards all the time, so my first thought was to get her off the sidewalk. I found a plastic bag nearby and scooped her up, she was too tired to even fight me all that much.

I took her home and called the wildlife hotline, they gave me the number of a rescuer that could help me. So I grabbed a box and a scrap of fabric and headed off to get the little girl help.

There they examined the bat and told me that she was mostly dehydrated, possibly suffering some toxic inhalation from the recent mosquito spraying.

I'm hoping for the best.
