I've been facing endless frustrations when it comes to registering usernames.

First, the incredible length of my fursona's name. "Marwan Green Critter". That's 20 characters in total, including spaces. Very few places actually allow for up to 20 characters for a username or display name. I'd be very lucky when I found one, like deviantART.

A lot of places allow up to only 16 characters. If I try to input my fursona's name, the result would be "Marwan Green Cri". Not even removing spaces is enough -- that would only yield "MarwanGreenCritt". =_= For that, I'm forced to shorten my username.

I'm lucky with Fur Affinity, Inkybunny, Weasyl and SoFurry because nobody else had taken the name "Marwan" so I get to use that for those places. Most of the time, however, "Marwan" is out of the question -- 99% of the time, that name has already taken. >_>;; Because, surprise, surprise, there are thousands of Marwans in this world. (Including that 9/11 terrorist whose name also happens to be Marwan... but that's another story.) It's a race to be the first Marwan to be able to snatch that username.

So, I settled with "MarwanGC". Most of the time, that's not a problem. But, some games do use word filters, and won't allow any offensive words in it. My username got rejected from use with these games. =_= Why? Because there is a "wanG" in "MarwanGC". *Headslam* (It's funny because "wang" means "penis"! 8D)

So, I settled with "Marwan_GC". But then, there are even some games that won't even allow you to use underscores in usernames. "MarwanGC" is out of the question because they'd still trigger the word filter warning. *Headslam* So, I settled with "Mar1GC".

Anyone else also faced a similar problem?
