What program do you use to draw? by direbeast

Lately I've been feeling that I need a change of scenery when it comes to drawing programs, I used Sai paint tool for the longest time, but started use Photoshop CS6 again, and it turns out, that I like it more.

But the real question is, What program do you use to draw?
I feel like I'm due for an upgrade.

Hmm :> Maybe I just need to figure out how to actually use it correctly.

(I use a Mac OS X to paint digitally/art digitally)

Paintbrush is what I use for simple sketches, concepts, and/or if I really do not want to wait the minutes it takes Photoshop to load sometimes... also: has a kidpix-esque bomb-tool that clears the drawing area which is useful and slightly comical for starting over.

Firealpaca is what I use for a digital painting feel in between Paintbrush and Photoshop, it takes a few seconds to load, but overall it's pretty quick, and does an excellent job of digital artwork for the tools it has. I've been told it's "like paint tool sai and Photoshop put together" but I think it's something else entirely. Although this might be due to my lack of experience with paint tool sai.

Manga studio 4 is something I bought while it was on sale awhile back, and I still haven't mastered it quite yet. I do have fun fiddling around with it though, messing with the built in screen tones & digital nib pens.

Autodesk SketchbookPro is a program I tried out recently via 30-day demo and it seems pretty cool! Has lots of natural feeling & looking brushes/tools to use & try out. I'm not a fan of having wheel/circular interfaces, but that is probably because I'm not as familiar with them.

Corel Painter is a program I wish I'd just buckle down and pay for already, because of how amazing & interesting all the preset brushes and other tools are! I love using the pencils, pens, and acrylic brushes. I'm not a huge fan of their watercolor brushes. Overall it's probably my favorite digital painting program that I've used so far.

    I hope this helps :3
