My sleep schedule lately has been totally nonsensical lately. It's been twice a day for 2 and 4 hours. It's not a very good sleep schedule, but it won't stop happening, dammit!
Anyway, I'm a detrimentally hesitant and cautious person with pretty shitty self confidence and social anxiety, so I decided recently to learn to play a stick dulcimer (which is basically half of a guitar: it's a little smaller and has three strings). It's difficult the be as hesitant as I am and play music, like, at all. Once I get decent enough, I'll play outside on the porch or on the sidewalk. In front of people. >:I To help with getting the fuck over being around people.
I practice at least one hour every other day or so and have three songs down insofar to help me figure shit out. I'm pretty excited about it and feel like I'm doing alright for all of two weeks of experience with any instrument at all ever. It's already helped me deal with self confidence issues quite a bit and it's just nice to be working on a skill that doesn't involve me sitting in front of the computer. My laptop may as well just be my lap, I basically never get away from it.
