New Kickstarter: "Like Evil XCOM meets Evil Genius by LudoCrow

... with Kaijus(-as- the Kaiju).

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/kerberosproductions/kaiju-a-gogo

It's a new game being Kickstarted by Kerberos Productions. Kerberos' mainly been known for their Sword of the Stars franchise, a scifi series of 4X grand strategy games but in recent years they ave taken a turn at independent game development and publishing thanks to Kickstarter.

As such, in the case of this kickstarter I would easily claim they are a good (game) investement as not only do Kerberos have firsthand professional game development experience(before "Sword of the Stars", members of their teams worked on Homeworld, and then later they formed the great majority of Cavedog studio who produced Homeworld: Cataclysm), they have also proven not once but twice that they can deliver kickstart projects.

First there was Sword of the Stars: The Pit( http://store.steampowered.com/app/233700/ ), an excellen roguelike dungeon crawler spin-off on their core franchise and universe which took the gameplay from the galaxy spanning wars of conquests to controlling a long member of one of the multiple playable races of their universe through a science-fiction dungeon crawling romp through the long forgotten death-traps riddled lab of an eldritch race.
The game was only partly funded on indigogo(since Indigogo allows for money to be sent even if goal is not met), but this not prevent them from finishing the game, which they did.
Ever since, it's been their best selling title in history with now 3 (very affordable) DLCs adding new characters and content to the game and occasionally made it amongst Steam's best sellers.

Then, more recently, there has been Panzer General-like Ground Pounders, an hex-based strategy game set again in the Sword of the Stars universe and meant to represent ground campaigns within the history of the setting. It's currently on early-access ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/267730/ ) and I've sadly only played a little of it. However, it should soon be nearing an official release and so far and has garnered some positive reactions on PC sites.

As such, Kaiju-a-gogo should be their first true foray outside of the Sword of the Stars franchise in almost a decade and already sound(in my opinion) conceptually pleasing.

I mean, how many game out there promises you to play a mad scientist with their personal pet Kaijus on a quest to conquer the world?

This said, I've rarely been disapointed by what Kerberos has produced so I hope to see this one be funded and released as well. They've now become a "sure value" in my eyes.
