Update: How Commissions are going to work from now on. by LudoCrow

Commission Queue:

  1. Shaytalis (sketch)
  2. OPEN
  3. OPEN
  4. OPEN
  5. OPEN

So, due to recent events confirming my tablet really seem not to like my OS when I'm streaming(or vice-versa, I'm still investigating, it might be something else completely), I have to use a different plans for commissions.

So, here's how it's gonna work for now:

Streaming:

Has sadly proven to be night impossible due to near constant crashes which seems related to my tablets' driver. Some people are thinking it might be due to the OS but I don't know. Admitedly, though, I use Windows 7 while the tablet seems to have better performance on Mac OSes(in fact, it is only Mac users who can uses the tablet with true dual screen support. Windows user, for some reasons, only have the screen on the tablet duplicate whatever's on the other screen).
I may try at some point to see if that's only when I uses the tablet for drawing or if I get the crashes even when I'm not making use of the stylus, so perhaps I'll see if I at least can gamestream.
So this mean the only commissions I can make right now are those I can draw without streaming. Which bring me to:

Commissions:

I'm still taking them. In fact, I probably need commissions more than ever since my main avenue(streaming) for them is now nonfunctional until I find a fix, whatever it is.
However, this mean I can only complete them offstreams(since, again, streaming is nigh impossible). Which poses a bit of an issue since streaming used to give me the advantage of rapid feedback. So, in the meanwhile, here's what I'm going to do:

Here's my skype account: mercierludovic

If anybody is interested in a commission, I will be almost always free to contact over skype to discuss details or send WIP sketches and images of an ongoing commissions. While this won't beat the ability of being able to draw a commission in real-time, at the very least Skype still allows me for much more instant communications than note or emails. I also have a AIM for those who don't own Skype, but Skype is really the most reliable of my IMs services.

Note that everytime the commission queue is fully empty I will post a new journal(and perhaps picture announcement) to state such.

But basically, unless I state it in a journal, I'm available all day to be contacted.

Of course, since I cannot exactly stream anymore, I cannot reliably charge an hourly rate anymore as well since commissioners don't have much of a mean to see progress in real-time. Which means that until Streaming is fixed, I will be working with fixed rates:

Pricerates:

As said, I can't charge an hourly rate when people don't really have a meant to check progress in real-time. So soon, I will be releasing a pricerate reference image with both refs images and corresponding prices for commissions types I can draw. I'll try to make it as complete and diverse I can to showcase the diverse types of works I can produce the best I can.

For now, though, here's a non-exhaustive list of what I offer:

Digital Sketches
from $ 10.00 to $ 25.00
Digital Inks
from $ 25.00 to $ 40.00
Flat Colors
from $ 40.00 to $ 55.00
Digital Paintings and Shaded Colors
from $ 55.00 to $ 85.00

Traditional Sketches
from $ 15.00 to $ 25.00

Note prices vary on complexity, amount of characters, level of details or background and so on. Just drop me a note or contact me on Skype as noted before, and I'll give a price that can still be negotiated. In due time, I may decide to find a more fixed rate and detailed setup for price adjustment for the likes of details and backgrounds.

Note that there are some things I will NOT do.
These notably include: underage characters or porn(seriously, NEVER asks me this), extreme gore, scat and other "harcore" fetishes.

And for other things that I have sometimes drawn in commissions but I must admit make me uneasy: most anything dealing with humiliation of a character(and in fact, female characters being humiliated or degraded in art is a thing which makes me -particularly- uneasy), extremely painful TFs and generally anything non-consensual that is either painful or degrading to the subject character.
I will be frank, these are themes which I frequently see out there, but fankly make me uneasy, especially when I'm the one being asked to draw them. I don't mind it -so- much when the subject of these later categories is the "commissioner" themselves(and I mean, the human(or fursona truly directly based on them) behind the screen) but it's still something which makes me uneasy to draw or work with.

Theme weeks:

Here's something I want to experiment with. Basically.... I like transformation. Seriously, a lot of the personal art I draw and never post online tend to be of that theme. This said, there are also many other things which I also enjoy.

So I'm going to try theme weeks. Basically, every new week I will have a new theme announced with my weekly sunday updates(the self-titled "Crow Sunday Papers").
During that week, any commissions to be drawn in a particular theme will be 10% off. This will include both offstream commissions(the 10% applied on the time of payment, basically) and online stream commissions when those will be (hopefully) available again. This said...

You support:

Commissions are currently my only income. However, I don't like asking for help. I feel that doing stuff like "emergency commissions" and so on detract from being professional with my art.
If I want people to commission me, I want them to do so because they've enjoyed my art and style, not because I have difficulties paying my bills. Plus, an "emergency" always mean a temporary situation generally, so I don't want people rushing to me with commissions all at once only to suddenly disappear when the "emergency" is over.

If anything, I've still got some reserves left, and worst come to worst.... well, like many other people out there I have worked in the likes of fast-food or such, ontop of other jobs. If I really can't make it... I'll do what it takes to do so even if that means less of an ability to produces art. It's only a matter of me rolling my sleeves and doing what needs to be done.

This said, your support is always appreciated. This is not a desperation thing, but more that if you've commissioned me through livestream before and would be interested to commissioning me again... then don't be afraid to do so. I may not be able to streams those commissions like I used to, but I am more than willing to do as good a job as I can and keep as open and steady a communication as needed to make sure it is done to your satisfaction.

Basically, this is about the fact that I don't know when I will be able to get my computer to stream without crashing, and even less what to do to get it to stop crashing such. So if you like my art, if you've been interested to commission me again or for the first time... then please don't hesitate. I'm willing to do whatever it takes not to leave you disappointed and will be most thankful for the support.
