Confuzzled, closing commissions for good - sorry by HamsterToybox

A few of you will be aware I am attending Confuzzled con next month (www.confuzzled.org.uk/). I was having a table there, but I've had to cancel that due to my new job. However, I will still be attending as a regular attendee, and am looking forward to meeting some online friends.

I'm really enjoying my new job and have decided to focus on building a career there, rather than in art and design. I've been doing small amounts of freelance work over the past few months, and whilst I enjoy the work itself (Most of the time), managing my accounts, juggling clients and worrying about where the next job is coming from is really stressful - and this is with another source of income. I worried about the client not liking what I had done, and didn't want to experiment with techniques as the client was expecting something similar to what I had done before. I was also frequently frustrated at having to put my own work on hold whilst I'll worked on client work.

So with this in mind I won't be taking on any more commissions for the foreseeable future. I know some people were waiting for me to reopen them, and I hope no one will be too disappointed. I did enjoy drawing other people's characters - in fact one of my best ever art experiences was a commission piece. I just... really like drawing my own characters.

So, for the next few months, I will be focusing on my comic. I am also going to do a perspective course at 2d.cgmasteracademy.com/. It's pricey, but I really need someone to help me with my crappy perspective! In the meantime, I'm going to work my arse off at work, trying to get promoted out of the call centre. So. I'll be busy.
