Saw "The Raid 2" by Rockario

The movie is definitely longer than the last one, but it wasn't too long. The climax came at exactly the moment I started looking for an ending and it was the most exciting and satisfying part of the whole experience (and that is saying something). The extra length was well deserved; the story is about organized crime, new blood challenging the established powers, a son's ambitions colliding with his father's wishes, and an undercover cop caught up and trying to survive.
Despite the increased scope the movie was still, at it's core, about brutal, masterful martial arts. The fights range from from one man beating down a whole gang of thugs, to two masters in a riveting death-match. The one thing that anchors this movie is brutality in many different flavours; the fights take place in a variety of environments which all bring their own feeling, and the most memorable characters are masterful fighters with a distinctive style. The trailers I've seen show a man with a baseball bat, there is also a woman who uses two hammers, and a martial arts master who uses two karambits.
Some moments in the fighting were unexpectedly shocking or funny. One of my favorites involved the baseball bat: picture what usually happens when someone gets a bat to the face. Now what do you think would happen if someone had the back of their head against a wall and took a full swing to the teeth? Even though I just hinted at it, I bet it will still surprise you.

The ending was absolutely perfect, what we heard were the only words that mattered.

I need to go see this, thanks for the review. Loved the first, I saw it in a theater with only three other people sitting there, one a friend. What an experience.
