I don't want to have to hide them completely, I'd like people to be able to browse them, just please don't stick them front-and-center above my featured art and profile info asdfjkl;
if you want to put them somewhere hella visible, why not between Stats and Connections on the right? Like 2-3 rows of three thumbnails each. That would be awesome and it wouldn't make my profile so misleading! right now it looks like I drew all that awesome shit OOPS

Thanks! It's good to know you guys are checking out the feedback and just trying new things in general. I would love to have favorites thumbnails somewhere on my main page! Just... not there. 9_6

That's the thing, you can't really streamline things until you implement them. It's not a perfect system, but it's generally how it works and Weasyl is still technically in beta, heh. I will say, it's been an exhausting night talking to people and getting feedback, but you guys have been really awesome about expressing your concerns in a way that's not angry or trashing the site. I think most people get that Weasyl is trying to listen and improve, which is awesome.

said below, I also suggested the same thing when you guys asked me on Twitter, two rows of 3 would be awesome. Also if we could choose which folders show in the Folders section, it'd be great. Sucks having my crappy old ones always show! I'd be all for having the option to randomize faves, though! :)

I don't think I can really express how awesome it is to see a mod showing up in a journal to discuss these things.
That aside, maybe a "minimal" option would be an icon like the Folders icons have?

We do our best. :3 I'll make sure to make a note of that suggestion, we've certainly got a nice pile to go through. I've just been out and about trying to gather feedback, see what kinds of trends are popping up, and just generally trying to let people know that we're listening.

I agree, I love that you can see what ppl favorite, it may help other artist to shine too. But its indeed very confusing having it in the middle of your own gallery. it would be better as a small row like they do when showing other pieces in that same gallery, that would be great!

Could favourites be put between Folders and Shouts, possibly?

For now, you can turn them off in your site preferences. It should be right under "Don't show my user statistics on my profile," option.

My favourites bar just came back despite having the option not to chow it ticked. D: So annoying.

We're definitely hearing the feedback and trying to figure out the best way to go forward, as well as adding some tweaks and options in. I'm not on the design side of things so I can't say why it is the way it is, but we're doing our best to gather what everyone's thinking. Your voice is assuredly not alone.
