Wacom Tablet Users-- Help Please? by SpikedKanine

I have a Wacom Bamboo Splash(CTL-470) right? The wire decided to tell me to go fuck itself and it's pretty much on it's way out (I can see the innards of the wires now)-- It needs to be replaced. I literally have to play Russian roulette everytime I plug it in until I get lucky and the computer finally accepts the tablet and lets me draw.

HOWEVER...Upon looking up "Wacom Bamboo Splash Cord" It's like....What??? Apparently they're calling the Splash and the Bamboo Create the same tablet now???????

And for some ODD reason I'm not seeing the cord up for sale on the official Wacom site.

So after searching around I found...

This on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-CABLE-WACOM-BAMBOO-CONNECT-CAPTURE-CREATE-TABLET-SKU-CTL470-CTH470-CTH670-/150761082546?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item231a0f8eb2

And this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Slim-fitTM-CHARGER-Bamboo-Connect-Capture/dp/B009PBC8A0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397294362&sr=8-1&keywords=bamboo+create+cord

I would highly, HIGHLY prefer to buy this on Amazon as I'm kind of skiddish of Ebay unless it's absolutely necessary.

The one on Ebay looks like the right one-- and has the right model code-- CTL-470.
I would have already hit buy on Amazon but something's throwing me off..."CHARGER Cable Cord"

Charger?
Am I just blatantly stupid or something? o_o
Does the USB cord quality as a charger.....despite not charging anything?
ANYWAY-- I just wanna make ABSOLUTELY SURE-- That I have the right thing before I buy it. I've never replaced a part of my tablet before and I'm a little nervous-- especially since it takes SO FUCKING LONG to get from wherever to where I live. I wanna get it right the first time-- and hopefully purchase it today.

Edit: Someone told me that a generic cord would work as long as it was the correct type and linked me to this: http://www.cablestogo.com/support/connector-guides/usb , Which i identified the right type of cord as a USB Type A and a MiniUSB Type B on the other end. I just plugged the generic one in and it works! [: Thanks guys!

ONE MORE QUESTION.
Does anyone know of the Bamboo Splash...Create...whatever the hell it is....has a wireless set for it? I've only been seeing wireless sets for other models of Wacom Tablets-- but if there's one for the Bamboo Splash-- I'd love to invest in getting one at some point since I'd hate to keep replacing tablet wires.

And finally-- Does anyone have any reviews on the new Wacom Intous? http://www.wacom.com/en/us/creative/intuos-pen It's the same price as the Wacom Bamboo Splash when I got it about 2 years ago-- But has more features and whatnot. It also has a wireless kit up for the grabs-- which is more what I'm in interested in. Is it a good buy? I'd probably see if I can get near my birthday or something. Is it worth the upgrade at some point? :U

You don't actually need a brand-name cord, any ol USB 2.0 B-to-(whatlookslike) MicroUSB A will do, just make sure the part that goes into your tablet isn't too bulky if your cord goes into a groove in the side like it does with a Bamboo Fun, for example.

Buying a brand-name cable straight from Wacom is needlessly expensive, as any off-brand or $1 cable will do the trick.

"Charger" is just in case you wanted to use the cord to charge a phone that also uses that type of male USB end.

As for your other questions regarding Intuos and Create, I've got no idea :( I only have a Bamboo Fun.

      Oh wow really?
I just looked at the links you sent and to me it looks more like a MicroUSB Type B! So I /FINALLY/ have a name for that strange other end of the cord! So now that I finally know the name for it, It'll be a lot easier to possibly see if I can find a non-name brand version over here.

People also told me that the very same cord could be used if I had Bamboo Create or something-- because only the Bamboo Splash doesn't have the Wireless Adapter capability....Which is strange. :/ But, either-way it'd act as a charger in that case.

My old tablet was a Bamboo Fun! It did me well, but I didn't know where I could get a new cord for it two years ago-- PLUS it was becoming horribly outdated and the pen kept falling apart because I was an idiot and pulled it open once because I thought that was how you changed the nibs....So it would scribble all over the place randomly on occasion and then disconnect several times in a row. xD The only thing I outright hated about it was that it's surface was like drawing on ice. :/ But luckily it looks like they don't do that to their tablets anymore and always put a nice texture on the drawing surface.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

Any Micro USB to USB should do. Mine is a Bamboo CTH-470 and if I remember correctly I would only need a battery and it'd be wireless , but I've never done that :P

I have a bamboo create, and the cord, like the ones that your links show, that came with it is pretty much the same ones as the phone charger cables I have.
But the one that came with the tablet wasn't of the very best quality so I use my phone cords instead.

Don't know if it is very helpful.
