This is a journal to help me improve and see what I can do for future events.
So review me. Look over my art, maybe you've commissioned me maybe you just look and watch here and there.
They can be good, bad, or anything at all I'll take it up front and everything.
Now if any of you see any comments you don't approve of or so please do not pester the person. It's for me to take in, not you, u///u i thank you for your kindness though.
This is very optional and I thank you for your time in doing this.
Also i'm open for commissions Click here
Also taum owners Ima going to collect as much art of taums as I can so if you have a taum artwork in your gallery, share it with me u///u I would love to just collect all of you lovelies
I really have to agree with SpikedKanine up there. As far as your art goes...the style is lovely and unique, I can easily pick it out from a dozen painted-style pieces if names were not attached. And the fact you strive to improve instead of constantly bashing your own art is very admirable.
Now, I can't commission people since I don't have PayPal...but from what I see and all, you communicate with people and if you do that with commissioners--that is a mega-bonus!!! Just from reading so many people's journals on FA about people they've commissioned and the MONTHS they've waited and they've asked without answer on their commission...I think you're levels above others because you do communicate with people. And you are friendly...it doesn't get any better than that!
Here's a nifty way to pay people for art, without needing a PayPal account:
(well, assuming Happy does invoices)
I always wondered, since I could pay for convention passes with my credit card, even though it's through PayPal. I didn't know if a person with PayPal actually had to set it up specifically for that or what... laughs
I'm old, so I don't understand the internet as well as the youngsters. chuckle. Thanks for explaining that to me!!!
thank you so much for you time in giving me this review! I really appreciate it and I'll do my best to continue with my work!
I have to agree with everyone else. Your artwork is very lovely and very well done. I can see why you have so many commissions (or commissions at all). You're also very nice (although I've only talked to you a few times, never in depth though so I probably don't know what I'm talking about).
Over all, I think your artwork is lovely. It's easily distinguishable and colored really well. It's why I was so shocked you followed me LOL. Keep up the awesome work, m'dear! You're doing great!!
I don't know how collections work but I'd love to help you with the taum hoardings
As of your art. The art I've seen for story modes are amazing, great colors but the values could always be alittle higher. As in just add some more highlights or shadows but that's just a personal preference of mine.Your overal idea and exicution is great though, you have wonderful abilities with backgrounds and I love seeing them. Your game characters are adorable.
I've seen your skill just grow and grow, and I really admire your digital paintings. Your style, approach, and choice of colors really make things pop juicily and come alive--they look like traditional paintings, too. I have to check the category sometimes to make sure. XD Your openness to critique and striving for improvement is an ideal motivation to see in an artist. It's inspiring!
Your positive attitude and friendly interactions with your followers and the community is what helped me get accustomed to Weasyl. It was a very refreshing atmosphere to be welcomed into, and so when I think of Weasyl, you're the first artist I associate with it in my mind. I can only hope for others to be just as inspired and uplifted by your presence in the community. <33
i've been watching you for a while but i'm still pretty new, but as far as i've seen, you're art has been improving, your commissions and customs, and your game designs are rad as heck
Obviously, I've come back for more commissions because you've been excellent to work with. Trello keeps things open, which is great, you're polite, clear, and quick! And, of course, I love the art you put out. :D Sooner or later I'll grab a bigger piece, but I'm trying to keep myself on a budget now. >.>
You've got some gorgeous brushwork, and evocative colours, and that's absolutely a reason to watch you. If I had to give a complaint, I feel you don't do enough background/detail work. Your dream dragon stuff was wonderful, and it'd be great to see you putting more of your lovely characters into more complicated scenes.
And while it doesn't need repeating (who am I kidding, it totally does), you've got some adorable designs. :D
I would definately have to try harder in popping those out where i can cause you are very right I don't put out much detailed work. When I do another story mode sometime I would love to put out that same love into it though. With wild cards and taums being my cheaper work, I am gaining alot of knowledge on how to make a base and wonderful start for my bigger projects. Thank you for taking the time to review me, I really appreciate it!
You are easily one of my favourite artists to commission. I love your work, it's beautiful, quirky and original. I love your taums. I love that we can see your queue easily on the Trello, can see our WIPs.
You are easily approachable. You're super friendly. I love how excitable you are about EVERYTHING.
I just think you're awesome ^-^
You've come a long way! I think you always push yourself to get better, and that's really helped. You've done a lot of challenging stuff. I think as long as you keep striving to improve, you're doing just fine! You're also very kind to your commissioners and everyone else, and that is also definitely a good thing, it brings people back.
You're doing a wonderful job! And I still remember the lovely giftart you gave me that one time, it's so pretty. ; v ; That always warmed my heart when you'd surprise someone with giftart, especially those who didn't expect it at all, and were treated terribly by others because of their art skill levels.
I have never commissioned you before so do don't really know how you handle the work flow, but lets see what is can say about what you got so far.
Right off, your colors are bright and vibrant and work well with other. They pop and are very fun to look at. The values work well with the colors as well, like when you use cool (blues) colors for shadow as a pose to many other people who use straight up black. Be careful though, there are a few time when objects almost get lost between each other because of very similar values.
The scribbly nature of your painting is very fun too. There are even some times when you make nice and smooth gradients and you make it work well with the scribbles. Still, be careful, using ::Orbor Corpsesmith:: as an example, it took me a minute to figure out that was fire and smoke and not a tree.
Your drawings are fun too. There is allot of gesture and exaggeration even if the character is gust standing there. But for things that don't take that much exaggeration and more realism, you may need to do some more observation work to improve those kinds of details such as anatomy.
this is bit more of mass critique. hope that ok.
Ahh this is wonderful! thank you! i'll put that all into consideration, your not the only one who says i need a bit of value work so I'll have to maybe take a week or two to really sit down and work on it. I do also need to dabble more on anatomy as well! Thank you so much for taking out the time for critiquing me its something I did want!
I don't really have much to say in review that hasn't already been repeated by everyone else! You have great color understanding and a good noticeable painting style to boot.
Your creations are wonderful, your personality is frankly adorable and attractive in the best of ways.
I know a lot of your work is commissions so you don't get time to really do other stuff, but I feel you should try expanding the styles you do and experiment more (like the recent tribal wildcard commission was great practice for you!)
Try some hard/cell shading vs the usual soft painting. Try focusing more on higher contrast in terms of highlighting/shading. Maybe draw without opacity on, that usually helps. As well, an easy was to know if you are using too many midtones is by converting to b&w and then squinting. (in case you didnt know haha)
Also, while they don't look too far off I feel a lot of your feral animal commissions have a bit wonky proportions (such as https://www.weasyl.com/submission/413213/ and https://www.weasyl.com/submission/388323 )
Choosing similar animals and practicing from reference photos can really help that, eventually you won't need to look at specific pose reference at all!
Also I will offer any taum art I upload/ed soon uou I cant wait to see everything compiled haha
I .. think i know what your saying about the opacity but i'm not too sure really. I can understand though the other advice such as using gray scale to check the values. A lot of wonderful techniques from back in the old fine arts classes. Anatomy is something i shall get into for sure since i'm a little rusty. Thank you so much for taking your time on all of this! I can't wait to add it all to me collection!
Was going to say something but I think everyone else did a great job to answer.
Your style is really very outstanding and easily recognizable. And I see you work very fuently/easily and quite fast for what I could see during that one stream I silently had the pleasure to participate in.
I am very happy with the piece you did for me still and I hope to commission you again soon perhaps for a taum @0@
I feel like you have a very unique art style that is both pleasing to the eye, and looks like it was a heck fun to do from your behalf. I really enjoy your use of colors, which makes it clear that you have a very good grasp on color theory and such. Not only that, you're very well rounded it seems, with being able to pull off anything from an anthro, to a human, and feral, though you probably prefer fuzzy cute things.
I just think you're an incredible artist and I've always admired your work. ; v;

YOU'RE A TOTAL SWEETIE.
9000/10.
But no really-- Real talk. You're always a sweetheart to your watchers and followers. You also ASK for peoples opinions so you can improve. That's not something a lot of people tend to do.
You also have some pretty rockin' art to match so. YEAH. GOOD ART. GOOD PERSONALITY. STRIVING TO IMPROVE.
That's all anyone can really want out of an artist. ; v ;
