The FA Town Hall Livestream by Naoki

I don't care if you want to comment on how proud you are of not seeing it.

Let me sum it up for you, as far as I'm concerned anyway! Most of the questions were answered with vague replies. As usual there's been no hard date or even a ballpark timeline on any of the planned changes.

The only for-certain thing I took away from listening to it was that they're looking into opening up a donations page on Offbeatr to fund hardware upgrades.

    what is this even about?

FA's admins were taking questions from FA users in a livestream and answering them to the best of their ability.

I can't imagine... that any of it will be of real consequence. FA is so flighty...

if i didnt have to check for commission notes id never go back there. they're big goobers that don't know how to do anything and only got popular on the merit that there wasn't anything else like it when it was created.

Weasyl's biggest challenge is probably user capacity and yes, it exists because SheezyArt banned porn.

I heard some okay stuff in the half hour I was there, but yeah, no hard answers. Hopefully, since 'Neer said they'd be doing it monthly, there will be a plan next month with timelines involved.

i checked in shortly "well lets see if this works" - okay done.

but doesn't surprise me that they are going to use offbeatr - so much easier.

not that they would get anything from me huehuehue

Yeah it's business as usual really. FA talking about changes they were sposed to implement years ago. They only reason they're running around like headless chickens now is because of the competition from Weasyl.

    • Link

I have severe doubts about Weasyl's capacity given what's happened to other would-be competitors when FA went down.

I imagine it's like going through a DDOS attack.

  • Link

Maybe. I just roll my eyes at a lot of what FA promises because they almost never get round to it. I don't hate FA like a lot of people who jump ship to weasyl or get banned for various reasons do. I just think it needs to get it's act together.

Another thing that came out of the Town Hall meeting was the dawning of realization that if trust in their prospective new programmer was an issue, that they should put them under binding contract.

It only took five years to figure out.

Yeah, I imagine that the penny finally fucking dropped on that one :T

I was only partially aware this was even happening
