Why I don't stream/updates by kitaramoonfox

I know a few of you have been there when I tried to stream me drawing.. And.. unless I get some new computer parts.. it ain't gonna happen again for a while. My computer seems to not be able to handle streaming for some reason. I tried to do it just on my desktop with my bamboo tablet and it didn't like it at all.. photoshop crashed and everything. When I streamed with the cintiq it was.. laggy.. like.. EXTREMELY laggy.. I couldn't ink anything. could only color with a lot of erasing.

If anyone is curious these are my specs for my computer:
RAM: 4 GB
Processor: AMD e2-32000 apu with radeon(tm_ HD graphics 2.40 ghz
Graphics card: nvidia geforce gtx 550 ti (my cintiq doesn't use this when running. )

If you need any more info about the computer i'll be happy to give it over.

Also I am currently in the process of making a new badge type. Castle Critters. For anyone who follows me on twitter you know what i'm talking about. I am so excited to actually MAKE these into badges/adopts later on down the road. :D And I'm always open for creepy badges as well!

That's all I can think of at the moment.. feel free to hit me up through notes or email me if you any questions/comments/concerns/just want to chat or get a commission from me! :3 I don't bite honestly!

Yea streaming is/can be a system hog. That seems like a computer that was basically designed to surf the web.

but yet I can play games and such no problem.. in fact I was playing of all things Dark souls last night.. no lag or anything. XD it makes no sense! D: Think a CPU/RAM upgrade is in order? o.O

I've been running my AMD APU A8-3780k since it first came out and have no problems doing anything. If I were you, upgrade to the A8-5600k ($100), G.Skill Ripjaws X 8gb DDR3 1866 RAM ($85.00), and Biostar Hi-fi A85W FM2 motherboard ($80). But that depends on your cash flow. The new FM2 APU are pretty nice. (Above prices via Newegg.com)

I've never replaced a motherboard before so that'd be an adventure I'd rather not go down.. ._. replacing a processor and ram though is easy enough.. once I get the money. lol What are your opinions on this http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1723935&CatId=7239 and http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7010611&CatId=4534
The ram I can have like.. a few sticks of that.. up to 16 gigs.. and the processor is what I could upgrade to on this motherboard without replacing it. Otherwise I was just thinking a new computer. lol

That is the same exact APU I've been running. I've been playing games like WoW, Diablo 3, Saints Row The Third, Ect... and it has no problems with any of that on good graphic settings. That RAM on the other hand, 1333mhz will actually pull that APU down quite a bit. Remember, the graphics and processing is in one chip (APU) so the faster the RAM, the better. Especially if you want to stream and do other processes at the same time. I would highly recommend 8GB of 1866mhz RAM. If that is to pricey, then check the 4GB of 1866mhz ram. If it's still too pricey, then minimum I would get is is 8GB of 1600mhz like this (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8569728&CatId=4534). More RAM plus higher speed is definitely the key factor for this APU to really shine. Just try and stay away from the 1333mhz RAM so you don't run into the same problem youre having now.

I actually run 16GB of 1866mhz overclocked to 2133mhz. Reason being is I run a server for Minecraft, stream Netflix/Hulu, and game almost simultaneously and that's possible because of the RAM. I used to have just 8GB of 1866mhz and I did notice running the server and gaming at the same time did have an affect. But with the newer, better RAM, I've had no issues.
