Everyone who was owed a commission from me should have received a refund within the last two weeks.

Art hasn't been happening. Again. So it's not that I've abandoned this site - this is still, technically, my only art site now. I simply haven't had anything new to share.

If you missed my announcement earlier, I will not be attending Anthrocon this year and am not sure I will be attending it again anytime soon. I'm feeling kind of... burnt out on the community I guess. Yeah, the whole debacle back in January gave me a bit of a sour feeling that even a move couldn't quite fix. Please don't take that personally, as there are plenty of wonderful people in this fandom as in any fandom. I just need an extended break. I apologize for flaking out on those commissions.

Take care of yourselves.

I don't blame you re: feeling burnt out on the community. I've found myself operating more at arm's length since then too.

Do what you feel is best for you, Pie.

Me too. For the last two years, really. I hope you're able to get out of it though because you're one of the more valuable voices the community has.

And in general. Let us know if your art takes you elsewhere.

Good to get an update from ya! Enjoy your break, and take care of yourself. I look forward to seeing more from you, when that time rolls around. Thanks for all you've done, said, and been so far.

I completely and totally understand that. I was fortunate enough that I was surrounded by reminders of the good side of the community even while it was going on.

I hope that your hiatus helps you re-energize. You will be GREATLY missed by this batty in your absence. <3 Take care.

    I feel your pain.

Take care of yourself, Pie! I totally understand feeling unhappy with the community after January, and art block happens (especially when you're finding the community uninspiring). I hope you do tons of stuff that makes you happy. :)

I'm so sad to hear this. :( I'm sorry that you have to leave. I hope you come back at some point soon. Thank you for all the awesome stuff you have done for me. hugs

What's most important is you feeling happy and healthy, and you should take whatever steps or time you need to. Honestly, your work has been by turns, amusing, inspiring, touching and funny, so I feel lucky and grateful you decided to share it with us all. Be well, okay?

I can't say I'm not disappointed. You were literally the only person who could have done my commission, and without you the idea is just going to go to waste. However, you did the honorable thing by refunding my money, so I guess I can't complain too much. Good luck with wherever life takes you.

The first thing I will do when my ability to draw returns is doing that commission for you for free.

I don't want you to feel obligated, but that would be really sweet of you. Thanks!

Cheers, Pie. Hopefully your sojourn takes you back here.

Definitely take the action you need to feel better!

If you find yourself coming back, we'll all be here :)

Better to take a break than burn out, for sure.

There's no reason to put up with the fandom as a whole. Its a ridiculous, awkward, awful, and self-righteous culture with lots of terrible people. Some people are great but I'm sure there are some people in the Taliban who are nice guys. This goes for both sides of the coin too. If you think you're a cool dude while sitting in a puddle of diarrhea, your ass is still in a puddle if diarrhea. The only way its not us to get out.
