Is Weasyl dying, or am I just checking in at the wrong time? by OVERLORD

I dunno guys, but Weasyl seems awfully slow. If my art takes a couple of hours to pass through the front page, it probably means Weasyl is experiencing languishing traffic, or at least nobody is on at the strange, upside-down hours that I am. Maybe it needs to be promoted more.

I think we should widen the spectrum a bit. Get the name Weasyl really out there. You know, make Islamic extremists mention it during their execution videos, or write 'weasyl.com' on the chests of streakers at soccer games. Or they could, you know, advertise it at fur conventions or whatever. I guess that's fine too...

    Actually, I think Weasyl is doing fine considering how small its audience currently is. I get at least 50 new submissions every day... though then again, I *DID* go on a massive Following spree. I think prime submitting time is probably from 6pm-11pm EST, but that's really just a guess.

    It probably seems slow just because most people are getting the majority of their submission-dumping done. XD Bet you anything it speeds up again when everyone gets their next 10 invites.

    You ARE on at an odd time.

    But honestly the site feels faster than it was when I started, if anything. It's going to be some time before it gets the levels of traffic you see at more established art sites.

    When I post usually my art gets swallowed by other stuff pretty fast. I think the right way to do it is simply use it more. Invite friends who are interested, post art and journals, spend some time to fave and comment stuff!

    The numbers will definitely go up once the site goes out of beta.

    Right now I've been referring folks to my Weasyl when they ask about my art, and when I get business cards printed they'll have my Weasyl name on it. I'm also going to a couple anime cons and Anthrocon next year, so I can spread the word there.
