Photoshop help? :C by Ayeaka

So, recently Photoshop decided that it was just going to pretend that my tablet was nothing more than a big fancy clunky mouse. I have a relatively old tablet (an Intuos 3 9x12) but it's served me well, and other than a few scuffs on the surface, it still works wonderfully.
Seriously, the old Intuos 3s are practically indestructible.

HOWEVER, Photoshop CS3 and onward seem to have problems regarding tablets. Randomly, Photoshop will simply stop recognizing sensitivity and tilt. I've searched online and this seems to be a common issue. I've gone through the fixes that worked for others, and they haven't worked for me. (Uninstalling PS and drivers and reinstalling, the "deep" install mentioned, etc...) and it is literally only Photoshop that my tablet does not work in. It works just fine in ArtRage and Open Canvas and so forth. I don't know what to do. ArtRage is fine for when I'm feeling up to that and OC is nice for sketching, but I'd really like CS6 to be usable again. :C I don't have much time for arting with school and my internship, and this has messed up my workflow to the point where I barely feel like bothering.

SO
I have tried;

  • Reinstalling both CS6 and my tablet's drivers. (This worked briefly before, but it always breaks again. Hasn't worked recently.)
  • Ensuring that Photoshop was the first program I launched (as it seems to get pissy with other programs sometimes and conflict.)
  • A 'deep' install driver-wise. (AKA manually shoving drivers down PS's throat.)
  • For some reason someone suggested launching PS WITH their tablet and had success with that? It makes absolutely no sense to me from a technical standpoint, but hell, I tried it anyway.
  • Tweaking all manner of tablet settings.

Now, unfortunately Adobe's stance on this is that it's absolutely Wacom's fault, and they refuse to admit any fault on their own. They're sticking to it being a 'driver problem,' even though the tablets in question work fine outside of Photoshop, and as I've learned more recently, some Monoprice tablets seem to be having the same problem...(Hah, which Adobe staff choose to refer to as 'knockoff tablets') The issue comes up with Photoshop CS3 and onward. :C
Has anyone had success on their own?
