I still find the ratings for nude bodies dumb by shorty-antics-27

At 13 it should be fine for a 13 year old to see a nude body. Hell, I'd say it's fine for all ages, but the general rule in the US seems to be 13, then 18 for sexual stuff. If that is somehow different, IT IS FREAKIN DUMB!

A nude body is not sexual.

I am blaming America with how prude it is. :/ I hate it.

I'm glad on FA I can just rate nudity as "mature" and not "adult", as it is here. FFFFF

I don't see how rating a nude body on FA as Mature is any different to our policy of female nudity or non-aroused genitalia in general being in Mature 18+ on Weasyl?

mature 13+ and mature 18+ are two different things though. 18+ implies sexuality. a nude, non-aroused body human or furry is not sexual. i think the mature thing for fa is either 13 or 16+ i cant remember, while adult is 18+ of course.

No... sorry, that's not the case. Mature and Adult categories on FA are both for 18+.

        Content Maturity Filter
By selecting anything other then "general" you agree that you are 18 years of age or older, and that you agree to comply by laws governed by your local state and/or country as well as those in the Fur Affinity Terms of Service.
This filter applies to both viewing artwork on the site and receiving new submission notifications from the people on your watch list.

On Weasyl, we have 4 ratings:
        General
        Moderate 13+
Mature 18+ for non-sexual but mature themes
        Explicit 18+

Either way, on either site you're locked out of Mature content unless you're 18.

Then both are dumb to me. I know you guys have your reasons for the ratings, so that's why I'm mainly mad at America as a whole for being prudes like that. The nude body isn't a bad/mature thing to see, and I hate that the majority of parents are teaching kids it's bad.

I understand, and I agree with you that America is too prudish, no doubt. Unfortunately I only enforce policy, I don't get to decide it.

Yeah, for sure. :c Though what would be considered a 13+ post? XD And I'll edit some of my other artwork. Only one ref was corrected from a mod while the other two weren't, which was odd. ahaha.

:P Not trying to be snarky by linking the guide, but if there's a part that is unclear I can do my best to explain it. As for mod action in regards to your account, I'm not allowed to discuss that publicly so I'll send you a note.

That's why I asked about the 13+ tag. It's rather vague. ahaha. What would be more suggestive, but not so much that it's not 18+?

                  • Link

Basically light cussing, revealing swimsuits/shorts/stuff that shows bulges, mild violence that's beyond what you might see in a cartoon, mild drug use (like smoking, alcohol, etc, legal stuff), content that isn't sexual but some sensitive users might find a bit disturbing (vore is the biggest content that gets changed from General to Moderate)... stuff that would be aimed at a teenager, basically.

                    • Link

Ah! That's a good heads up since I draw vore a lot. I'll keep that in mind. on FA I always have it as general.

Also for cussing... what would be mild? Like just one word usage, no matter the word, or are certain words as 13+ and others as 18+?

                      • Link

I guess take a look at the list of swear words they generally allow on TV these days. F-bombs are still censored, but there's a lot that they can say nowadays. Basically as long as it isn't some tirade where every other word is a swear, it's probably mild usage. It's kind of a grey area that is highly situational.

wait, there was more I missed and it clarifies it some more... though it's odd that some sexual things can be in 13+ but non sexual nudity can't and is more mature. xD That's a little strange for my mind.

Only implications, not any actual acts or anything. Our society is saturated with sexual implications, at any rate, no matter where you look.
