ONCE AGAIN.
I'M TORN INTO PIECES (also I hate Markdown because it's stupid and confusing and there's no way to strike out text now lol, So just pretend those lyrics are crossed out.)
In the last 2 months I have made....$70. OTL And for the entire month of February I made zilch.
I have no new bites and it's once again gotten to that 'dead air' point where I'm going to be FORCED to buy a new bannerspace on fa...which is something I never wanted to do again since....
I honestly don't think Dragoneer deserves it at this point anymore, but I'm kind of forced to since FA is so damn popular. When I make the banner I would link it to my Weasyl acc but....I don't know how well that would blow over since Dragoneer hates Weasyl. ._.
I also didn't want to get another banner since I have 1k watchers on FA but only like......300 or less give a shit? LOL I want an ACTIVE audience but eh. Active Audience <<< Putting Food on the Table
It'd be a HUGE help if Weasyl got their banner/advertisement system set up but it's not something thats going to happen any-time soon it seems (since they're still ironing out bugs and putting in features).
But as for now it seems-- I'll be forced to buy another banner to boost sales again. >___o

I don't mean any offense in what i say, but mind if i give my 2 cents?
Pretty much, when the exodus thing was happening, a lot of bystanders who just didn't really want to get involved with the Drama that was occuring (myself included) didn't really see any commissioners leave, mainly artists. Most of us who saw this noticed this pattern and came to the conclusion that if only artists left (some in more extreme manners, whom i do NOT wish to get involved with now [period]), then the bulk of their income were staying on FA and they wouldn't really make the same income if they were doing weasyl only.
A few artists i watch (that i've also interacted with) have returned on FA because of this (also because they missed some of us). This i don't mean to disrespect weasyl for (Yeah, the markdown is complex and confusing too; i also don't like how the notifications are managed [it takes longer]). I myself made a weasyl to branch out my art and i'm finding that no one is really using it; everyone i follow is either on DA or FA already and the ones i do follow are simply posting older stuff.
Was this expected? Probably; a few people i spoke with figured people would return to FA once the drama died down and it seemed that way. The ones who reacted extremely and left are still gone from FA (again, i want no part of them), but...i don't think that kind of negativity is good in general. Are the staff shit on FA? So far, ever since i joined, yeah, it seems so. Does it mean the rest of the site (aka the users) have to suffer for it? No.
Besides, if you want to call it karmatic justice, something did happen to Dragoneer and his wife (although considering the circumstances, that would be a dickish thing to do) http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5561060/
It's not that weasyl is a bad site or anything, it's just i don't really think of weasyl as a commission site (still focused on FA and DA for that). Maybe if i found exclusive artists here on weasyl where i enjoy their style of work to commission, maybe that would be different.

I understand that theres some people who are just like "LOL IDC, I DON'T WANNA BE INVOLVED"...but at the same time I think it makes sense to at the very least /know/ whats going on. This was a RARE occasion in which everyone on the site who would have otherwised ignored this drama got dragged into it because someone with a sketchy background was put into power. Then-- even if you had no problem with who was being put into power....the staff ONCE AGAIN made terrible choices and handled the situation terribly.
Once again, this would all be something you could roll your eyes at and move on if /IT WAS'NT THE PEOPLE IN POWER/ doing this. I mean....when it comes right down to it I know it's just a furry art website, that people happen to make commissions off of but.....come on? :/ At least try to run it with sense please.
Yes! It's good to branch out and have other websites. I myself have several. That's one thing that I at least hoped that this Exodus would prove. That if you cut yourself off from FA you weren't going to flat-line or something.
But sadly-- Many people feel that way and have almost...been trained to believe nothing else when FA has such a monoply on things. :/In a way I think....just the right amount of people left for good... to at least give FA a wake up call, that they are not the end-all of all Furry Websites. :/ And that if they keep giving mediocre performances that it's gonna keep biting them in the butt.
All that being said-- Those who left forever, I applaud them for having the willpower and finances to do so. Some of them may have left in a ragequit manner but....It's expected.
I'm sure no one wanted to 'punish' their watchers for staying on FA. u__u But that's just how it plays out sometimes I guess.
Pffft, That's far from Karmatic justice for the simple fact that the site is still going to be run the same and probably never improve; and if it does it takes forever.
As for Weasyl, I love Weasyl personally. It does everything it should. And has a decent staff behind it that I hope will last forever.
Well, No one really thinks of Weasyl as a commission site for the simple fact that once again....FA is where the masses are at. If FA were to shut down for good at this very second, we would see the masses flock elsewhere and we'd have a new Furry Commission Capital within a few months. :UIt really just comes down to a quantity over quality kinda thing. Sadly quantity wins out here.
It's just kinda sad when you're forced to play into something you no longer believe in just because it's a proven method. Q N Q

No, i'm aware of the problems of FA, although i just joined up, so this whole debacle is rather new for me to deal with.
And i am one of those people who DID review the situation (as in, i looked up as many sources of info [Zaush included when he posted his journal]) and basically came to the conclusion that with how many conflicting arguments there were, it was impossible for me to really base a solid decision, but also, why should it affect me? I don't know either party, i don't know the full situation since i wasn't there, and the rage quitters were basically getting on my nerve because they just believed the first thing they heard.Do i think the admins did something stupid? yes. Does it affect me? hardly. I'm there to post art; not to meddle in affairs i don't know shit about.
Do i think the project will be done? I read up on some people's pages and it /sounds/ like something is being done, but i suppose we'll just have to see.
That's me being optimistic btw.-
I'm so glad you did the research. xD And I agree the whole thing was too conflicting to come to a conclusion...I believe I went into detail about how I felt in a comment on the 'explanation journal'.
Once again it was more the /admins/ that influenced my want to steer away from FA. Cause yes-- it doesn't affect is...../directly/. But indirectly, it's enough to make everyone uncomfortable at least. :/ And once again, it was just the nail in the coffin for the admins for a lot of people. This...just kinda pushed it over the edge for a lot of peeps.
As for the project? I want as much as the next guy for it to happen....but given FA's track record that's unlikely.
But if it does happen, I'll eat my words and hope that FA has learned their lesson(s) about their forgotten promises and handling situations terribly. :/-
I think i still follow you on FA, but i do understand if people left because of the admins. My main reason of complaint is people leaving because of the Zaush incident (not to name anyone, but there is one person i want to steer clear of). Yeah! I waited till Zaush made his side of the story and read thru both sides. Even before I realized It wasn't a (what I thought was)'selective few' who remembered the original Zaush incident, I was more annoyed with how the admins had just snuck him in-- hopeing that we had all forgotten. :/ Then...it just escalated from there lol.
If it was just about Zaush I would have cringed and moved on. :T

I'm going to end this just on my opinion on this whole clusterfuck.
Do i care what the admins do? probably not; no fucks are given there. Am i still human? yes, because i did feel sorry for dragoneer and his wife for the storage room debacle that just occured (more so sciggles; she was devastated). But other than that, i don't really like to meddle in affairs that don't affect me much.
Do i want to see the project done? Yes. How optimisitic? considering what people have said (including yours), not much, but i'm hopeful. It would certainly shut people up.
Do i think one site is superior to another? considering i still use DA of all sites, no. I just post art to share and maybe learn from others. I do intend to keep practicing and who knows, i might even take commissions when i feel i'm good, but i'm getting ahead of myself there.-

I felt sorry for his items he loss too. He may have proven more than once that he's a terrible leader but I don't dislike him to the point where EVERY THING BAD EVER that happens to him makes me jizz. xDDD;;
