Life Updates, Commissions, Projects, etc by sonderjen

I have been without "employment" for the last month, and I have drawn, designed, and painted more in that month than I have in the last two years, and it feels amazing. Most of what I'm doing wouldn't be relevant here, but I'm eager to apply what I've been learning. I don't want to talk specifics, but there's a lot that I want to work on, and I'm actually motivated to do it, which is a first in a long time.

The last two years have been horrible, but I want to approach this year as a clean slate for everything. Once a year, usually at the beginning of the year, I like to review my online history, and I'm always embarrased by the person I was fifteen, eight, even one year ago. Not ashamed, but definitely not proud of every little moment. This is comforting, as it at least shows some growth, and I'll probably look back at myself in five years and hate this asshole too. Here's hoping.

All that being said, I know there has been a sharp decrease in the quality of my work in the last two years, but I'm getting out of it finally. Maybe I just needed a break, who knows. As of now, I am reopening commissions, and I promise they'll look closer to or better than these two (one from 2 years ago, one from a few weeks ago), versus most of what I did 2012-2013:

I also REALLY need to justify my wide format printer's existence, so I'll be launching a new campaign on that soon. I'm able to print on a lot of specialty papers other than just "glossy", so if you or anyone you know is looking for prints up to 13x19, contact me.

I'm also able to do vinyl decals finally!

TL;DR: The last two years sucked personally and artistically, but I'm getting better in both regards. I am also self employed, so if I can draw, print, plot, or design anything for you, HIT ME UP.

I certainly hope you can achieve your goals. It's good that you recognize your own growth, though.

Funnily enough I've just been made redundant, and while it's a rather anxious state to be in, I'm also (cautiously) hoping it'll be a blank slate, as well as a chance to get more art done. Yesterday's ending is tomorrow's beginning, I guess. I hope it goes as well for you as I hope it'll go for me :)
