I'm gonna attempt to work on commissions today, and it's such a lovely day outside for you to ask me questions.
You can ask me anything, anyhting goes; can be about my art, my life, current happenings, taxidermy, about my characters, dinosaurs, or just random ass shit yo.....ask.fm/ThatGreenMonster
If you could obliterate one book or one movie from the HISTORY OF FOREVER, what would it be and why?
hmmm...that's hard to say, because in a way even a badly written book in a way has it's good points...or a movie. It can teach us about things like not what to do, they can be examples to future movie producers and directors or writers of what not to do. It also in a way is somewhat a look into some people's minds and past....they can also teach people how not to be...and sometimes a badly written book or movie has some ideas that could be good and later used in a movie or book that is actually turned around and used in a way it should...or recycle the idea into something better.
An example would be the twilight series or 50 shades of grey, they're terrible books and have terrible ideas and terrible teachings, but they're examples of what manipulative relationships are. They show how dangerous things can be, if you tear away the fantasy appeal of vampires and werewolves....and with 50 shades, it's something people in BDSM should look out for and not do! I myself have no read them, but i've heard reviews from people who have as well as people who have experienced situations like that or know the warning signs.
It's really hard to say for me....since one i'm dyslexic, so it's hard for me to get through long chapter books....and another movies that are just bad are generally removed on their own....almost in a natural selection sort of way.
either or, i'm not a person to judge on something that's terribly written or filmed(though I can't sit through or finish reading something so bad anyway...) But there is always someone out there that will love it.
I think birds are my favorite and to me seem the simplest compared to other animals...though I haven't done many mammals, i haven't done fish or reptiles either so I can't really say. Birds can be frustrating due to their thin skin, but they just seem easiest to me....and are less work as compared to a deer shoulder mount which takes a lot of time, effort, energy and work.
european mounts are the easiest....but they stink and are just annoying.
Back in my freshman year of college I owned a green iguana and he spurred the original start and base for my fursona/hazard. I eventually added more onto her basing some of her markings and large ears from an old character of mine named cleaver, to my other favorite animals like kangaroos and and prehinsile limbs from monkeys and other animals. Later, when I changed her face i never realized how close to a Kaprosuchus she was till an artist rendition of one appeared. So she's a mix of a lot of my childhood animals I loved including my favorite pet.
Nomsa, my other fursona, is mostly because of my partner Aesop and his fursona....and then my love for the skin disorder vitilligo. I don't have it myself, but I've always loved it.
I like to go to the local coffee shops, or down some of the shops on Route 66, they have a lot of antique stores there. A lot of the time I drive around in my car cruising, I basically grew up going on road trips and driving long distances due to living in Texas and family being spread out. If I have the time and gas i'll go visit my grandparents house and go walking in the pastures, looking for animal bones. I tend to just go outside if I don't have much going on and bird watch from my backyard/neighborhood. I'm not big on bars or clubs, unless i'm going there with friends....but i tend not to stay long if I can.
I used to hunt(but don't since I don't have a gun and I don't have the license for big game), but I do taxidermy as a hobby and use as much as I can when the opportunity rises. I like gardening, I have a succulent garden and a few other plants(orchid, mini roses, mini palm plant). I also like to look at science studies in biology and astronomy.
Most of the time i just like to chill out at home, draw, walk the dog, listen to music or watch movies, learn more in art via tutorials and studies, and if I can smoke up a bit.
have you thought of doing small game hunting instead? i dont know about cost where you are but it shouldnt vary too much from up here, where a small game license (50 bucks max) which allows you to harvest a multitude of critters such as coyotes, rabbit, squirrels, birds and i believe bobcat in some states. depending on how big you are a cricket .22 would be perfect for your needs. depends on your size though, as a cricket for a samsquatch like myself would be way to tiny. for under 200 bucks though you could be hunting, skinning, and taxidermizing to your hearts content. btw you may be my new best friend now that i know you love the outdoors and hunting.
Well here i don't need a license to go hunting coyotes or rabbits or other small game on my grandparents land unless they are animals that have to be hunted within season. At the moment I don't even have a gun to hunt with, I used to have a .22 but that's long gone now sadly.
but haha yes :3 i need to post my taxidermy mounts i've worked on on here when i get the chance.
